Tobes95 added a comment to T88492: After a few minutes in game I get teleported back to where I spawned in and the game loses all input capabilities.

I've been getting what I think is the same issue, I make some progress north and then get teleported back somewhere I just was to the south with no ability to move or look around and I have to Alt-F4 out. When I relog I'm put where I teleported back to. It seemed to happen fairly regularly every 10-15 mins or so, I did end up further north than I started but I kept getting put back, it happened 3 times and now I've stopped playing as it's probably just going to keep happening. I didn't start at the coast though, I just picked up where I left off earlier in the day in Zelenogorsk (it was fine then). I was on one of the GB/UK servers, I can't find a way to check which one exactly.

One thing that might be of interest/use is that I still had the items that I picked up in the town before I got teleported back. Basically I went to a town, looted it, ran to the north of the town, got teleported back south of the town and still had my loot from the town.

I just got this issue as well- I started in Zelenogorsk and made my way north through Sosnovka and Pustoshka to the military base near Vybor/Kabanino and got reset back 3 times along the way, once back to Zelenogorsk, once back to south of Pustoshka (both along the way) and once back to north-east of Pustoshka almost immediately after I got to the base. Each time I had no control and had to Alt-F4 to get out but one time I was spinning around and looking down slightly so that I ended up spinning around looking at my feet.

Great news! Thanks a lot for looking at this, can't wait until the new renderer is implemented, hopefully that helps!

A lot of people seem to be voting this down because they find night too dark without adjusting gamma, or they find themselves playing at night all the time. I'm not saying those aren't issues as well, I'd love to see a different day/night cycle so I get to play in the day time as well, and I kind of agree it's a bit too dark on default settings but those are completely separate issues that need their own feedback report.

Basically I want the game to be fair for everyone, and the gamma slider pretty much stops that, I'm not saying we shouldn't look at making it a little less dark as well, and give people a chance at playing in the day time after they get home from work etc.

SO PLEASE vote on this issue as something to make the game fair, don't just vote it down because without gamma you can't see as well.

No, this isn't a bug but it is feedback.dayzgame.com, I'm giving feeback.

Changing the options in your monitor settings does not have the same effect as changing them in-game. In-game they make invisible items visible and actually change the image whereas your monitor can only post-process the image to make it brighter- like in photoshop or something. Erik_TheHighlander explained it well on reddit: "turning up gamma just on the monitor won't work because the gamma turns up ingame lightmaps that are projected on polygon surfaces, not just the rendered picture you see on the screen. If you turn up monitor gamma it will affect only the shown pixels on your screen and if there is no more information than just black and a lil bit of lit surface, the monitor won't be able to simulate the actual 3D environment." http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1t029v/dayz_sa_gamma/

I've been having this issue as well, I've attached 2 screenshots to show the difference turning your view slightly makes- the shadows pop in and out depending on the direction you're looking in. This was at night so it doesn't seem like it depends on time of day at all.

I also had this issue, I think it broke my legs on around the 3rd try but after testing my blood I seemed fine again!

Tobes95 added a comment to T86921: When going down the bottom stair in one of the apartments I got stuck.

I also had this issue, in one of the 12 storey apartment buildings near Cherno- I fell down the last stairway and got forced through a wall so that I was stuck under the building, I managed to get out through one part of it next to some steps I think though- I took some screenshots while I was in there (00005-00007 above) and another one of the section I was inside after I got out (00008).

Tobes95 added a comment to T86666: Massive FPS drop when looking into city..

i5 2500k @4.5GHz, GTX 570, 8GB RAM here and I see 25-35 fps most of the time in Cherno or around the apartments with maybe 30-40% GPU usage, graphics settings don't seem to help much. However it seems that it's actually fairly well multithreaded on my CPU- I get around 50% usage on all four cores rather than 100% load on one and nothing on the others.

Tobes95 added a comment to T86648: FOV slider has no number assigned to it.

Epocx obviously I can tell what the best setting is by spending ages fiddling with the slider to get it into exactly the right position, deciding whether that was better or worse than before etc. but in most games I know I can just set it to 90 and get on with playing it. Also for consistency it's nice to have the exact same setting in all my games.

Tobes95 added a comment to T86583: Mouse control needs some love. Accel, sliders, inconsistent and imprecise..

Completely agree with these issues- separate x/y sliders are unnecessary and annoying, they don't go nearly low enough (I use a 21.5cm 360 and 1800DPI) because presumably mouse DPIs were a lot lower when Arma 2 came out and they need a number. Talk to Valve and see if you can copy and paste the source sensitivity slider into DayZ. Acceleration sucks but is going to be fixed so it can be turned off soon apparently. One part I disagree with though is that most games don't actually change your sensitivity when you change your FOV though and neither should this one.

Tobes95 added a comment to T62192: PIP (realistic mirrors) slow you game by 10 fps on standard setting.

Same issue- when switching between 3rd and 1st person with PIP enabled I drop by 10+ fps in 1st person, disabled no difference. I know it isn't a problem with my computer as my GPU usage doesn't increase so it's not like it's just a big draw on your hardware like anti-aliasing is, it's an optimisation issue.
The framerate in this game is consistently horrible though, it's not like I'm getting drops below 60 with PIP enabled, more like drops below 30 or even 20.

Tobes95 added a comment to T60617: Grass Draw distance Should be max..

If there's a way to implement this without reducing performance any lower than it already is then great, it's ridiculous that you can be hiding in grass and virtually invisible but you're easy to spot from 500m away because the person looking at you doesn't see the grass.

However if grass performance can't be improved I'd say go the other way and disable it altogether- I'd do anything for 60fps and if grass has to go then so be it.

Tobes95 added a comment to T59777: No option to set Field of view degree in options. 1st person view FOV.

Every first-person game should have an FOV slider from 60 up to 120 at least, no messing with .ini files, no breaking all the scopes because you've changed your FOV or any of that. It's a basic feature that should never be left out, and when it is it's usually because the game's a half-assed console port- not an excuse ArmA can fall back on! It's alpha so it doesn't matter much at this point but there needs to be an FOV setting in the full game.

Tobes95 added a comment to T59083: Low CPU/GPU Utilization.

Getting extremely poor utilisation/optimisation here as well. My specs:
i5 2500k @4.3GHz
GTX 570 overclocked to 900MHz core/2000MHz memory
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
Playing from two 500GB 7200RPM HDDs in RAID 0, OS on an SSD.

Using MSI Afterburner in combination with HWiNFO64 to monitor GPU and CPU usage and offline I'm able to achieve 90% or higher GPU usage all the time as tweaking the settings actually makes a difference to my framerate, with 60fps on the first showcase, however this is much lower on the other showcases, decreasing to 30-40 on the helicopter showcase. CPU usage is around 80% on core 0 and 20-30% on cores 1-3.
Online my GPU usage plummets to 30-40% constantly if I stick with the same settings, and my framerate dives into the 30s most of the time but I'm lucky to see even 20fps in Stratis' major town (Agia something?) which is just unplayable. Tweaking settings here makes very little difference, only view distance seems to have an impact. My CPU usage stays about the same, still only using most of my first core and barely using the rest at all- what's the point in having a quad core CPU like the rest of the PC gaming world if you're only going to use the first quarter of it?
I realise this is an alpha so I'm willing to forgive any issues for now but if the game ends up like ArmA 2 at launch being so terribly optimised I can't see myself playing much of it, which is really frustrating because I keep thinking how amazing it would be if it was at 60fps all the time, and not just on a stupidly low view distance of 500.
@xzenocrimzie- all of my other games (except PS2) run at 99% GPU usage, they just churn out as many frames as they can but ArmA doesn't bother.

Tobes95 added a comment to T58746: PiP FPS Drop.

Big fps drop for me with PIP too, goes from 30-40fps using 3rd person view in a vehicle (which is awful to start with) down to 20-30fps in 1st person view just from a couple of mirrors. With PIP disabled my fps is the same in both views.

Not sure if it's really an issue or just a very demanding setting as it's rendering a whole extra scene but it would be great if I could use PIP without such an fps drop.
