This bug is also a great advantage for CQB. You can set your FOV to the maximum and remain constantly-scoped into your iron sights to improve your reaction time.

It's strange that you say this - because this issue has been fixed since 1.48. You must be referring something else.

New information discovered:
The bug happens because the default Optics Mode key is Ctrl+RMB (Switching from CQB to magnifying sights).
It wasn't a problem in the past though...
They're aware of the sound issues. Telling them "bring back the old" is not constructive and was rightfully closed by Adam.
When you have something concise to report you're going to get different replies.
Feel free to watch any of Dslyecxi's last videos or even my own videos. Proper balance can be easily achieved with some volume slider tweaking, even with the current very WIP status of the game audio.
Lower your game volume to 25-50 % for a better balance. I personally use 30%, YMMV.
It was brought to my attention that FOV can be changed WITHOUT the use of mods - via a change in the player's user config file by adjusting fovTop and fovLeft values.
This is an issue because where servers can whitelist specific mods, they can't enforce changes that are done in the user config settings.
Official BI stance is already supporting my report, see here: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=6780#c25983
Just noticed the issue as well, even after all the audio changes etc

Bump. This was never even acknowledged nor closed by BI.
The 1st person animation is terrible and serves absolutely no purpose.
I've spent numerous hours trying to find information about this feature but it is really unclear.
Does armor=1 only affect friendly infantry? Or friendly infantry and vehicles? How does it work in multiplayer? What if you're having a PVP between two sides, which side gets the bonus from the feature?
Pls Dwarden.
Yes Cenwulf, from Dslyecxi's tone in one of his videos (forgot which), he'd hinted that an overhaul to the action menu is somewhere over the horizon. My estimate is around the 2016 Expansion.
Really, this feature is a must have.
