This has been annoying players for years, causing them to have to create new profiles and re-apply settings when all they really wanted was to rename their profile.

In our community's case, trying to keep names uniform between everyone, we asked a player to capitalize his name from 'zjosua' to 'Zjosua'. Unfortunately his Windows username is 'zjosua' so creating a new profile name 'Zjosua' was not allowed.
