I'm have the same Issue, I have recording software installed, but it isn't running. I'll randomly get a black screen where I can hear my game and can interact with it, but cannot see any thing.

Could you please share which recording software you used please?
I have seen lots of people say that Arma 3 does not like any recording software. Not friendly with it, sometimes will launch other times will crash.

I have not had the issue for some time But as far as recording software is concerned . I am only running NVIDIA shadow play. Could that be it?

The issue is caused by some kind of Recording Software. Try uninstalling it. That should fix the issue.

I have found something that might be of interest.
I have found a way to make it launch consistently in a manner that I found quite peculiar.
I launch the game from the launcher and before the Arma III logo with the progress/loading bar appears, I switch to another window (alt+tab). Then the game launches on a separate window and once I click it I am in the game (full-screen). Although I cannot go to another window and come back to the game after that otherwise the game crashes.
Update: I think it might be related to BattleEye since when I deactivate it, the game crashes but without error code. And when I activate it again, it comes up with STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION.
Changing other parameters doesn't seem to affect the game crashes.
I have launched unmodded as well several times and nothing changes.

it is battle eye, i had the game functioning at 110% on max settings, and then the battle eye update as of 09-01-15 or 1.52 came out i consistantly crash, and i posted on that exact same day, so ive been waiting 7days for replys on my forum post

I wanted to note that Arma 3 has launched properly 5 times now (not in a row). It still fails quite often, but I was happily surprised to see that it did do something.
My hardware is not overclocked at all. All of it at factory settings.
I don't mind playing the game with a special.exe, please let me know what I need to do.
I changed the access to whoever has the link to the drive can view. I'm sorry for the previous inconvenience, I hadn't thought of changing the settings.
In that first crash message, the numbers change (0xwhatever) from time to time. But the second crash message always remains STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION.

Could you please export your game log files from the launcher?
Steps on how to export logs from ARMA 3 Launcher:
- Start ARMA 3 Launcher
- Click the Hamburger menu tab in the launcher (Top right corner. Next to Options (Cog wheel icon) and Minimize Button)
- Drop down menu will appear
- Select: Prepare Arma Troubleshooting error and save those files
- A notification will pop up with the name of the generated file
Please note that the files might take a while to collect.
Attach the generated files to the ticket. If the files are too big please use some free file sharing service.
Also, please check if your page file is enabled and how big the page file is.
How to check your page file:
- Go to control panel
- Select System
- Select Advanced System settings in the left menu
- In the new popup window select Advanced and and Click settings under Performance
- New window will pop up. Select advanced again and check the Virtual memory tab
- The total paging file size for all drives number represents your page file size.
Is your hardware overlocked (CPU,GPU and RAM mainly)
Lastly, we are preparing a special .EXE of the game with extended logging capability so we can identify the problem faster and with more accuracy.
Would you be able to play the game with mentioned .EXE so we can find fix for the issue faster?

thank you for your report and files. It seems that your problem is that DirectX crashes. This may be from various reasons, such as outdated DirectX, outdated drivers, overclocked CPU or GPU [by manufacturer or user] and many more.

Same issue. Use ace3 as mod. After previev cant move camera
I can report that this issue still exists after placing down a playable man and previewing the scenario. You can delete the man, preview the empty man from a birds-eye view then go back to eden editor with camera movement. However as soon as you place a soldier down and preview the editor will freeze upon returning.

This bug still happening on my end.
Some points:

- I managed to move the camera for half a second one time, before it froze.
- From my testing, it seems that the culprit is the ACE3 mod. Version 3.4.1

After fiddling around a lot with different mods and entirely without it seems like the problem has been fixed, atleast for an unmodded arma, unless I was really lucky (or unlucky, depending how you look at it) and avoided the bug entierly, it also seems like the amount of mods that lead to the bug has gone down, the only mod that I was able to reproduce the bug with was ACE, so I think the problem has been solved, atleast on your end.

Im using the Eden Editor and since the last update im getting this erorr message:

this message only appears after returning from in-game to the Eden Editor and after that message i cant ROTATE with the mouse in the 3D Eden Editor.
i tryed it with and without ANY mods just arma3 vanilla ver. and this error message still apearred.
Same issue with ACE3 mod. Errors " '/' is not a class " in the middle of the screen and "Ace interaction failed to compile for some units (try adding CBA_enable_auto_xeh.pbo)" note in bottom banner after returning to Eden editor from preview. Added cba_enable_auto_xeh.pbo from options folder and had same result.
After some further testing it would come to seem like ACE plays a hand in this, atleast when it comes to frequency, there it's a 99% chance that the camera issue appears.
Strangely enough it would also come to seem like the chance of the camera issue happening without any mods at all lies around 5%
I think I can add some information to this, seeing as I seem to have the same problem.
The Eden Editor works fine before you start a mission preview, but when you leave the preview to come back into the editor your camera controls will be frozen.
If you go into the map view and try to doubleclick to move the camera there it wont affect the 3d view and the the icon will kind of stick to "the points the camera were attached to before it broke" (The attached pictures show how the camera kind of sticks)
It should also be noted that a (for lack of a better name) "seeker lines" appear and follow your mouse, like when you bring up your map while in the actual game.
Without mods I don't get this problem all that often but I get the problem every time I use these mods; (ACE3, ACRE2, BlastCore A3, JSRS and the ShackTac Fireteam Hud)
This issue started happening yesterday, both with and without mods but the fact that the mods seem to be able to bring out the issue each time is interesting.
I'm unable to reproduce this. What does "Create mission" mean in your description? Just staring a new scenario without adding any entities? Or should there be anything specific present?
I have the same issue but I also have it if I convert a mission to the new format. the camera will just not move at all.
I use a custom mod pack that I'm developing and the F-18 mod.
The mission was also using these mods.
I placed a Soldier with the "Player" assignement. After that the Camera was locked and I could only use the 2D-Editor properly. I´m probably missing something, is there a camera unlock/lock key or something like that?

I cant upload crash dump files becaus they dont exist. The Game never started so the /Arma 3/ folder never got created.
only battleye and the launcher seem to work properly. The arma3.exe does not start and nerver did since i bought the game 3 days ago

The latest 1.52 update moved it's location on Windows to %AppData%, but it's not being written there either.
I'm about to open a tracker issue for it. They must have broken it when they updated it.

it was a command line variable -netlog after i removed it it runs fine what happend to -netlog

as far as we know this issue is caused by the Windows security update KB3078601. You can try to wait for Microsoft to release an updated version or uninstall it (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/troubleshoot-problems-removing-updates#1TC=windows-7)

The game is unable to initialize a graphical subsystem. Possible solutions:
Update the graphics card drivers to a newer version.
Rollback the graphics card drivers to an older version.
Check the temperature of your GPUs and CPUs.
Disable the Steam Overlay.
King of the Hill is not an official multiplayer mission.
You better try to get in contact with the creators of King of the Hill (or any other non-official multiplayer mission).

The tracer lines aren't 100% accurate because the bullet's position is checked only at certain intervals. They're not the actual path of the bullet.
Your image looks like the bullet bounced off the soldier, probably his gun.

I noticed some time ago that this old animation also apply to just moving forward normally while prone and then standing up.

So I did some edits and changes
So you say the animation is different depending on the used key bindings?
The animation that you see there is an old animation from ArmA 1. Also present in Arma 2. The devs didn't care or forgot to replace the old animation because of the default key bindings they made to their game. Which the default key bindings can't make you stand immediately while evasive, prone, forward. But instead you can only go to crouch than stand.
Can you please specify what exactly is not working? Does the game crash on startup? Etc. Thanks!
