This seems to be occurring only in the singleplayer environment, as we did not experience this problem in multiplayer environment. Can you please confirm?

@Geez problem with walking through is, that stairs are very high on the inside with angle near to 90° in collision geometry. And problem with aiming is, that you aiming to the wall of stair, it's same as you aiming directly to the wall.
I was about to suggest setObjectSurface command, but that works too :P
(not that setObjectSurface wouldn't have it's uses for someone I suppose)

This also happens every time when you choose a location to spawn where there is a fight (indicator flashes), the enemy takes it over and your spawn timer is still running. When it runs out, nothing will happen and you can't spawn anywhere else.

I agree. There are too many objects in the game that have been there since Arma2 and really need a texture upgrade. Another example I would like to give are the various objects in buildings, such as the beds and closets.
What is your suggestion, considering backward compatibility?

But that doesnt make sense as a design - mods are uploaded by the admin and as such to be considered "secure".
Not a bug but design decision, mission config has priority as it is looked up first, if found all other config look ups are skipped
