Setting the scale of an object within 30 meters of a StaticObj (CfgNonAIVehicles) causes the physics to malfunction
Assigned, NormalPublic

Description

As the title states, placing StaticObj nearby an item with a Scale of 0.00001 will cause a desync and for the physics scale to be unaffected by this change. This is a common application for deleting objects within the DayZ Editor and the community uses this feature quite often.

I've attached a video. The reproduction steps are simple:

  1. Place anything prefixed with StaticObj nearby a building (within 20 meters)
  2. Rescale the building to 0.00001
  3. Observe as the scale is no longer functional.

It feels like the old scaling bug we used to have long ago before it was patched for the community. Hopefully it can be resolved thanks!

Major issue on my server, and quite a few other server's I've heard from

I have same problem even without deletions. Before patch 1.28 all was good. But now we have not working mapping (with invisible walls) + ugly car physics. I understand that you have new baby - Arma Reforger, but we never receive enough love as very big DayZ community. Please send us love. If you can't, just back car physics(that's better in every game I know) + fix this mapping bug. And you can stop updating have, we have enough mechanics, all was good on 1.26/1.27. We have mods and all good. Thanks. Have a good day, Human.

After 1.28 update, I had a player report invisible walls at the cave that I built. I went to go investigate it. I noticed inside and outside there were nvisible walls and the hit box on some of the walls also had issues as well. Reported as many others did too. Hopefully it can be fixed soon.

We all love this game and want it to keep growing and improving. First of all, I apologize for my poor English - I’m writing this using a translator. Still, I hope I can convey an important message.

Custom zones created by community servers are, in some cases, true works of art. You should know how much time it takes to build a new world - a space where people can escape real life and get inspired by the atmosphere of handmade locations. It’s a flight of imagination and a dopamine rush for those who are truly passionate about their hobby - building new places or even entire maps.

Please, don’t take this joy away from players. Help us. You can fix this issue and prevent it from becoming worse in the future. We deeply respect your work - and ask you to show just a little respect in return. We’re not asking for much. Just like you, we are passionate about the world you’ve created for us.

I truly hope our words reach your heart - and that you hear us.

I'd like to make a clear mention of the only found workaround, incase anyone else has made it unclear.

Closing DayZ (often times the launcher as well) and reopening / reconnecting entirely, will then correctly register deletions for that specific player.
