DayZ.cfg file settings
ok here is what I came up with, Note: it looks that exp and stable have the same version but the exp test was done on an exp server. I did the exact same position standing on top of Gorka Police station if you go straight out the top the the railing and look down to the middle of the city so that I could get the most consistent numbers.
32-bit – 65fps
64-bit – 75fps
32-bit – 100fps
64-bit - 104fps

I also had someone in my chat say that have been having the same issues but theirs is pretty much unplayable so I told them to post in here in-case they have other info that I do not have or can not remember. But I was in Novaya Petrovka Police coming from Zaprudnoe through the fields and I will getting 20 fps and then cam out of police to head to Sinistok and was getting 70-80 fps. So I am not sure why there are fps drops and select locations since I get the same thing running in the middle of no where.

I am not sure if I took a driver update prior but up until today I had the latest driver (see they came out with one yesterday that I have not installed yet). I have gone through device manager and manually clicked and checked for updates to pretty much everything. Not sure if it is a windows 10 creators issue or what is going on.

I had a drop when .62 came out but it was stable up until the patch that came out the end of June/beginning of July area, then it seems each patch since then it has gotten worst and worst. Each patch seemed to take 5 fps off, so I uninstalled the game and deleted the file you mentioned as well as the file in steamapp folder and did a reinstall and it only seems to have made things worst. I do run everything on very high settings but that is because I stream it and want it to look good but these are the same settings I always had so that should not be the issue. I did do a test and even if I put the game on very low settings I only seem it gain about 10-20 fps so there is not much of a difference in fps from very high to very low even though you can see a big difference, that is just weird.

I have been having the same issue. My wind seems to never really let up and the fact that it is client side and the guy sitting next to me had no wind is not good at all. It has been to the point where I can not even hear my own footsteps in a building and all the other ambient sounds get louder with it. Really needs to be fixed and better make it to server side so everyone hears it to same.

I did a little bit more looking into it and if I am at the character screen and change my terrain quality to very low the grass is almost gone and then very high has a lot of grass but then when I go in game and do this there is very little to no change, almost like the quality is locked. I am not sure if this is intended or a bug. I do have screen shots for examples.

OK, that is what I thought but I was told that it did not work like that by another player. It makes more sense to me for it to be that way for if you log into a low pop server thinking it will be easier you will probably be met with more AI challenges thus balancing out server difficulty, that is awesome. I noticed it when I was playing on EXP (empty servers) to help test for a bit and came back to stable to get more PVP for a bit and felt like there were no infected around compared to low/empty servers. So just really wanted to know straight from the source whether or not I was losing my mind and thinking that was happening or if it really was. Once again, thanks for the input and the quick reply.

when you are finding a server at the server screen none of the servers show the character icon next to the server name and even when I expand it down to get more server info where is says character it always says none. If I go into one of those I may have a fully geared character somewhere and then when I log off it shows the character icon and then says I have one there but if I copy that server and restart the game that server no longer shows the character and says that I have none on the server until I log in and I am back on the character. Public always shows that I have a character (which I do so it should) but on private servers I never know unless I long in because it always says I don't have a character even when I do.

It seems to be working fine now and back to what is was before if not better. Don't know if one of the patches fixed something or not but who really knows, lol

yeah, I know of the tricks for the alt+tab and the change res and change back but I alt+tab a lot and don't want to have to keep going through the steps or have to keep remembering to do them.

Sorry sorry, my bad. Looking back at the VOD it was the Green and Orange house that I was unable to place it in the fireplace. I had it in my hand and it just kept saying "place on ground". Is more info still needed are no? now that you can't see my screen shots and record content is getting really old.
Talking to nvidia about their shadowplay and they have gotten a lot asking about it and the problem is Dayz and they have an issue with the renderer not being right so nvidia will not have a patch/fix for it since they don't have the issue on their software. There are workarounds but they tend to be a pain in the but if you need to alt+tab for any reason you have to go back through and redo the steps every time. I doubt there will be a fix anytime soon for this since it has been since July and they still have not even said they are looking into it which is sad since streamer and youtubers keep talking about these issues only looks bad and could hurt sales.
Don't think they will fix it at all. Since there are a lot of people having this issue and it seems like there is not a work around that works and they have not even looked into it. And the fact this was started in July and it is December with the same issue here...

Geez you are correct, I did notice it took about 12 hits in 3rd person and in 1st it was 2 hits and then 7 hits. So thank you for the input and I will adjust my game play accordingly. Thank you for your time.
MrKirby, I was told to aim high since I was thinking the crosshairs where line of sight which I guess it isn't. Geez already has said what needs to be done and to try and advise, which I have not been able to do yet. I just feel that in third person the crosshairs should be where I am aiming, if not then there is no point to them. Also I deleted it since I was told that I was not punching in the head so I did not want to have false information. If you read above (which you obviously didn't) everything you have said has already been said, I already have said I thought I was hitting in the head but was not, I already said I will try it aiming higher and that it takes ~6-7 hits to the head for them to go down. So we can keep repeating everything that has already been covered or we can give more feedback to make this game better for everyone..

I will have to give it a try to aim above what I am trying to hit. One thinks that those crosshairs are where you aim but I guess that is not the case. Also I don't play first person and shouldn't have to switch just to aim a punch on an infected.
Yeah they take 38 punches to take them down, freshly spawned players can take 3 hits before going down. Here is video of 2 infected back to back where I punched them 38 times to have them go down, this is what happens everytime I punch them, everytime I see and streamer punching them and everyone I talk to about punching them. Now after these latest patches if I take an F12 (screen shot via steam) the photo also come out as dark as shadowplay records. Will the Nvidia shadowplay being really dark ever get fixed or no?

Yeah, don't think you will ever really see a "base" and if someone does want to it would be on their own private server.

Yeah I agree with that, put something in so people have to wait longer if they want to jump and ghost or if you get the people that make it to the NWAF and just jump servers to loot up. Those are the people that ruin the immersion for other players.

I have done the alt+tab and it then allows me to change it and it shows but everything is just set so high for me to see things. I know this is also an issue in .60 but I don't have to put my settings so high. The alt+tab doesn't help anything with how my stream looks either, I have to add a filter and put everything really high there to. Then you still get the same problem with shadow play whom I have talked to and they tell me that it is a dayz issue with switching to the new render er that it was switched to so they will not be coming out with a fix for it. Hoping that the new environment will have them find what ever issue they are having. The setting show the gamma high and brightness about halfway because if you up the brightness it washes the color out and game looks really bad.DayZ.zip

Mr.Kirby you must not play .61 at all or understand what I am talking about. .61 only has 10 second timers so you can ghost someone in about a minute. (Saw someone do it to LP and Dado yesterday). Second I am not saying logging in and out of the same server for bug fixes, I said if you log to a different server then try to come back, since that would seem like your intentions. So in server "A" you log to server "B" you move (taking about a minute) then log back to server "A", the system should see this as a possable ghosting and give you an extra long timer. But like I said it is a problem in .61 and they said it has been acknowledged and will be fixed. I have no problem with the .60 timers I was just saying MrKirby that they are not in .61. I would love to see them put a longer timer on if the scenario above were to happen. I would also like to see something to help with people jumping servers to just get loot, maybe something like timing you out for a while if you jump to many servers in a set amount of time, forcing people to stay on the server they are one for that life.
I just had today were I was inside a building and it started to rain and my blood dropped 1000 in just a few seconds so I logged out and into a non raining server but it took about an hour to get the blood back up then my health finally started to go up. Seems like the balance is way off.

Even if i just play the game by itself or streaming it there is no difference. I have to have gamma maxed out even in day time to see things and I have to do the same in obs to have my viewers see anything. If I turn the brightness up then the color is just washed out. I have messed with settings and that does nothing. This game is just really dark and I have also heard it from a lot of streamers as well.

I had that and mine fixed by turning vsync on, still was getting 100+ FPS which is odd but it fixed the hitching that I had.
I had very low game volume as well. Couldn't even hear infected breathing or anything.

I have noticed now that I did let Nvidia optimize it and it is looking a lot better. I was getting 200+ fps and didn't see it that much. I see it also seems to do it more when streaming using OBS, but I will be streaming tomorrow and we will see what it does then.
I still have the issue. It seems to go away for the most part when I have vsync on, when I turn it off it is worst then before but I still get it even when I am getting 30 frames so I don't get why it is doing that. I don't seem to be getting it with other games, like I said before I started to notice it after the small update last week. I never had this issue in the past and if I don't have vsync on the game is unplayable.

I did now notice it in another game (barely, if I look down and run through grass it is just a little but not as bad as DayZ is) looks like if I turn vsync on it stops. I should be getting I new GPU today to so I will have to test it out and see if that does anything. Going from a GTX 750Ti SC to a GTX 1070 FTW, but I am thinking it might be a vsync issue with my Asus PA248Q monitor but it is odd that it just started yesterday.... And doing some talking another friend of mine gets it too and said it just started about a month ago for him.

It would not let me put the .mdmp files in keeps telling me "No configured storage engine can store this file. But these are the files from the crash, the 11:16 one is from the crash that I talked about above.
When I hit the upload it pulls that folder up in a web brower and it shows the location which has my username at the top. I can look at it again once I get on my computer later.
Well the lanuch parameters where put in after I had the issues to see if it would fix them like it did in .59, so taking them out will not change anything at all. I even heard that taking down the steam fps counter will help but it didn't do anything. The only reason I do not put that file in is since it has my real name in it and I will be keeping that out of the gaming world as long as I can.

I can't even put them in favorites. I click to put it in and it changes to remove from favorites but if I go to favorites it is not there and then when I go back it gives me the option to add it again. This is starting to be a pain, hoping it goes fixed with the new patch since they said their where changing it.

I see that it does that but then I have to keep doing that every time I want to play and then change it back so my desktop doesn't look messed up, dumb. I can change it in the config file but then it turns my second monitor black like everyone else. I think they push this stuff to quick because they were feeling the heat of all the delays they kept having and pushed it to stable before fixing it totally. Every other game I play allows me to pick my resolution regardless of my ratio, DayZ should be not exception to the rule; some times I feel like they don't care about the players and just do what ever they want and do take the time to make the game more enjoyable for us.

Really? I have watched streamers and I don't hear it on theirs. the sound runs in a loop so every 15 seconds I hear a door slam (like I am standing next to it). I could probably deal with it but my biggest issue is i do not hear other players. I can hear them talk to me but i do not hear their person. I have watched a person load a gun right in front of me and didn't hear it, then if they run around me i will not hear their footsteps. That has got me killed in game a lot.
