I don't have an issue with it for my own sake but it does concern other players. I have an advantage they do not have and I am not supposed to have that advantage.

Where you say- However, the "1st/3rd person" character on the public hive cannot be used on the "1st person" servers, and the "1st person" character cannot be used on the "1st/3rd person" servers.

I say- I dont have two public characters, just one. That one public character is the only option I get. So if that character is in Cherno on a public 1/3pp server then it is also in Cherno on all public servers whether they are first-only or 1/3pp. Apparently that gives me an advantage that most players with two seperate characters dont have, so it is potentially unfair. There are others like me who also have a single public character. We seem to be in a minority but as it is the only option we seem to get, we imagined that was normal but as you say and as most Reddit posters say- it isn't normal.

Try not to be distracted by the side issue that I have a unique character on just one public first person server. That character is NOT a first-only public character, it cannot be taken to any other public server be it first-only or 1/3pp. It is just an oddity that is only of curiousity value. The existence of that unique character does not give me any unfair advantage, it just confuses the issue, try to ignore it. Pretend that character has never existed, then it should start making sense for you.

It does twist your head around trying to make sense of it but some players, apparently a minority, do have just a single public character as I do and we thought it was like that for everyone. But as you say and as most at Reddit say- it is not normal. There are supposed to be two distinct characters for public servers.

Using the FLUSH command might cause the barrel to drop, worth a try anyway.
Hold left shift and press keyboard minus. Then type flush.

Checked and confirmed, my character on that server is unique to that server. All other public servers have a common character regardless of 1pp or 1/3pp. Also there is no spawning delay when hopping to or from that server. It is private not public for me.

It is a shard. If you have an existing public character, this shard starts you as a spawn instead.

When 58 went stable I started what was supposed to be a public character on this "public" server only to find that it could not be used on public servers. The TOS says "public" may not be used in the description of a private server (shard). It is a deception that wastes people's time.

There were other deceptive messages like "server restarts every 10 minutes without warning" and resetting the server to earlier saves. There have been many complaints of server operators keeping people out during 58 stable rollout while they tried to farm weapons into storage ahead of others. It was interesting to see server operators quick to report failure of storage persistence. I kept the complaint simple in order that TOS violation could be determined easily and independently, without a string of accusations and denials.

Just start a character on that "public" server and then try to use it on a genuine public server. It isn't public at all.

Your product version says 0.58 but your game version says stable = 0.57.
Barrels on sloping ground seem to have similar problems in 0.58.
Guessing that the slope of the ground might be a variable that is involved.

Server lag contributes to this problem and seems to have the server misinterpeting the players selected action as having some other purpose eg drop bottle instead of fill bottle after pressing f.

The FLUSH command also often improves this temporarily but the cause is likely to be that your PC is running out of memory thanks to Dayz's memory leak.
Restarting your PC is the only way to release the memory back to normal.
Task Manager on the Performance tab can be used to monitor your available memory and free memory.

On Aus 01 there is little more than cans spawning around Cherno since 0.58.129052.
It is widespread, the North has better quantities but still poor for testing purposes. NWAF problems have been covered in other posts.
It is unhelpful for testing when even farming tools, fish hooks and animals are rare.It just gives people the runaround and frustrates them into giving up.
Exp is a testing server, so items do need to be available in normal or batter quantities. It is currently little better that when the hive got DDOSd.

It also causes a carried barrel to vanish or an equipped compass to be moved to a different inventory slot.

The hands seem to raise as if [space] had been pressed.

Did some tests and confirmed the red overheating message is not responding logically. Wet clothes, sitting, lying or swimming in a pool with or without clothes has no efect on the red warning. You just get many more red warnings and the occasional conflicting "I am radiply cooling" message. 4 or 5 minutes of not moving seemed to be the only fix for the red message. Wearing damp clothes while waiting seems to have no effect.

For the Hot message, removing some clothing seems to allow you to cool slowly even while continuing to run.

This may screw up the intended purpose of the new rainfall.

Thanks qsek. This one turns out to be due to the progressive memory leak which BI has now acknowledged. It is about 200MB when it is like this and the Steam diagnostic that runs afterwards leaks another 300MB worth. The only fix is to restart Win. I think the Steam leak has also been acknowledged now too.

I have disabled as much resident stuff as Win will let me but these leaks are massive percentages, so its up to BI to fix those.

The opened can will also disappear into the pocket of some clothing item that is stored in your inventory, seems to alternate between going into the first or second clothing item.

They seemed to have the water pouring problems fixed for a while.
The present problem is a less complicated problem than previously.
My impression is that water is no longer being either lost or duped.
It's just the % contents that is not updating immediately after pouring.

I have not tried pouring petrol.

Now it pours ok but fails to update the contents %.
Moving the "empty" target bottle to another inventory slot causes the contents to then show correctly. Also right clicking on the "empty" bottle gives the Drink option (the correct indication).

Weekly maintenance seems to have fixed this one server 02.
Pouring ok.
Have not checked server 01.

Yes, cant pour water from one container into another and a few times the water has vanished instead (when poured from the ground, not when in inventory).

Yes Darcion, it would help if people talked about the future plans that are being progressed in 0.58 and which are leading towards the addition of a new military base in the far NW. BI intends to keep a "zone 4" hot zone for PvP players.A commercial operator will always support the activity that is in highest demand.

Their intention is to move the pvp (weapon spawns)out of the zone 1 coastal spawn areas and also leave the surrounding zone 2 areas for non pvp survivalist fans. It is an attempt at meeting the needs of two different play styles. The evolution in the loot system in 0.58 is new, it was not possible before. This evolution is what people should be discussing because it is what will be happening progressively in 0.58 and 0.59. There appears to have been plenty of thought put into the plan. It is about the future, not the past.

The same thing happens for my default profile. The folder name is "S%f8ren" and ingame it is shown as "S REN"
