when you change items via hotkeys and change your mind until the animation is finished your hands will be empty and you can´t put anything in your hands.
so more you try to get anything in your "blocked" hands, so more items will disapear.
relogg did not help, all tried items will be gone after relogg
Server lag contributes to this problem and seems to have the server misinterpeting the players selected action as having some other purpose eg drop bottle instead of fill bottle after pressing f.
