Nice to see I'm not alone, can't you upload your mission.sqm file aswell so we can compare and see if we can't resolve it ourselves?
I've uploaded it but its attached to your report lol, this mission was running RHS though.

In the Arma 3 Launcher, try the following:
- Click on "Parameters"
- Select "Advanced" tab
- Click "Advanced" category
- Check "CPU Count" option and set it to "8"
- Check "MaxMem" and set it to something around 4000.
- Start the game (without mods of course).
The idea is that maybe auto-detect doesn't work and the 8 cores are not all in use.
Furthermore, open up your graphics card utility, any software monitoring your graphics card will do. Check the graphics card GPU clock if it is actually running at high performance (1000+ MHz) or if it is constantly in energy saving mode (300 MHz).
The idea is that sometimes the driver does not work optimally and doesn't set the graphics card to high performance. Modern graphics cards almost always go down to saving power when in 2D mode (desktop or little load). I've had a case where the GPU wouldn't fire up when a game was started. Try updating all relevant drivers and see if the problem persists.

Thanks for the heads up — given the experimental nature of the ports I figured it was port not steam, but it seems once you start to oversample above desktop (e.g. retina SOP), steam doesn't like it. Will hassle them.
BTW excellent work on the port! Arma3 on Mac OS. Never thought I'd see that. Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!
This is Steam related issue. The issue is present on both Mac and Linux. Please contact Steam support about this issue.
There is another way, how to make screenshots on Mac:
- Start Arma III on Mac
- Press “Command + Shift + 3” (default)
- Screen is saved properly on the desktop

I understand that right now, when all objects are withing single "Other" category, it may appear pointless. But we're planning object revision which will result in better object categorization, and having two tiers of categories is crucial for it.
When you hover What's more, when you hover an item, the tooltip shows its full name.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am running the game modded, and it may be due to that, I'll try to see if I can replicate the results with the game unmodded.
edit: Managed to replicate the results on an unmodded game, It seems to come into effect when more than 20 planes are placed down, and when you switch between the 3d editing mode and the singleplayer scenario mode a few times.

A big problem is if you want to let a helicopter fly or hover in low heights from the beginning of a mission.
The helicopter only starts flying if you set an altitude of 19m and above.
If you set an altitude lower than 19m the helicopter will crash because its engines are off.
I think, a small field with that "flying" attribute would be great.
What if I just want to let choppers and planes fall from great heights with their engines turned off?
I wouldn't like to open a new ticket and see this one classed as "duplicated" but one sure thing:
In 2D classic editor (not eden), when you create a group and choose "none" instead of "in formation", the units regroup themselves in V standard formation!
It's weird.
Place civilians, spread on map, group them, each with "none" in special field.
They will regroup at preview!
Hey Moricky, sorry that I didn't look through the tutorial.
I found out that this actually occurs when running the ATLAS LHD mod. Basically what actually happens is anything that is created from the mission.sqm will actually (while atlas_lhd is being created) still have simulation. Anything spawned in after will not. (maybe it could be a script in the file?) (this isn't happening with the nimitz) (could it be because the lhd is not registered in any of the lists in eden? But instead in the 2D editor?)
Also during these tests I found that these models (lhd and nimitz) would stay in the mission space (eden space?) and not leave when loading or making a new mission (cntrl + n), but i guess that's another issue. (these tests were conducted in the latest dev version) (also sorry for the late reply, been busy)

Could you please attach your 2D editor mission? In my test mission, the import correctly reads FLYING state and moves the vehicle in the air.
Flying was replaced with simply placing a aircraft and using the alt key to change its altitude. The others (in formation, none), I'm not sure. There is a right click context for forcing a unit into formation, but I haven't figured it out yet. I haven't found a "none" command yet though. It should come back though if it was taken out, very useful.

i made a crashdump with the contents of the appdata arma 3 launcher (thats all i had not a regular arma3) if you need some more info or more concise info ill be of help :) i just want to get this game working!
i could re-download the game for i just bought it so its not like im going to lose anything

@Fighting Power: I'm going to assume that your comment is directed to me and in particular to step 4 sub-step 3 of the ArmA 3 Tools: Game Updater section of my guide. Leaving the Steam Guard Code blank does not in any way turn off Steam Guard. The challenge code that Steam sends to verify the connection is properly entered into the SteamCMD CONSOLE window that verifies the Steam information and is only needed the first time you run SteamCMD on the PC. The code is retrieved from the e-mail that Steam will send to your accounts primary e-mail address.
Steam Guard remains in effect and protects all versions you choose to install. You should not disable Steam Guard for any reason or need to.

I've added the option for Game Updater to override the displayed branch for each copy of the game.
Oh hell no, i will not disable steam guard! Once my account was stolen, i will not let it happen again.

the branch ribbon type is based on current branch for Arma 3 on Steam, it doesn't take Game Updater magic into account.
Wrong connection i guess. If i'm not mistaken there was somebody with similiar problem here. Try to connect cable from monitor to graphic card output. I guess you have connected to motherboard output right now.
this might not be eden specific, as i have encountered this with normal destroyed vehicles, the crackling sound of fire burning is not removed after wreck is deleted

Example: the GAME LOGIC module has an info textbox.
Many other modules/logics however do not have this info textbox.
Probably needs to be expanded for all other modules/logics in the future?
