I hope female (combat capable) civs, and soldiers will be added to the game at some point :) It's sad that there is only a handful of games out there (much less fps games) that allow you to play as female. As a female who likes video games, I feel left out because of this. I feel like my whole gender is barely considered by many game developers.. and adding us into a game is just a, "Maybe if we have time" kind of thing. Very last on the list.. We're the least important thing to add to a game. That's how it feels a lot of the time. Or we're just there wearing barely anything with the purpose of turning people on (which is fine i guess.. but sad if that's usually all we are).

There are 'some' women who are a lot more capable physically than the average man is. Being a woman doesn't mean you are weak.

recoil to the female body?? ..some women are probably bigger and stronger than you are lol.

how deep under the water are they? water stops bullets really fast in real life.

When I make a mission at night.. and set up the enemies to use flashlights.. i can see their lights from very far away.. they switch them on when they detect something. Maybe it's a graphic setting or something.. i have the settings on either full or close.

For me.. The more realistic, the better. No matter what it is

I think it would be cool if you could at least be able to run and vault a low wall without slowing down much. If you could jump though, I seriously doubt people would be bunny hopping all over as someone said ...it doesn't even help to do that in call of duty lol.

I also have this problem when playing in multiplayer. Single player seems to work fine for me.

When the sky is clear, and you're not in some overly polluted place.. The sky is very blue. I've seen it lol. Sky in arma is not too blue in my opinion.

@Cypher ..being honest, I get quite a bit more interested in a game if i can play as female in the game.. i just feel more like I am the character if i can better identify with the character that i'm in control of.. and that makes it more fun for me.

So yes i think it can actually help get more females playing a game if they can play as female. Works for me anyway.

You can sorta see your characters face btw.. 3rd person view, free look around yourself.

Rational as in having objections against, or reasons in favour of, that are reasonable. When I suggested some people in here weren't being reasonable, I was speaking of those who give some reasons against female soldiers that aren't reasonable.. such as some of the reasons you've given against :)

Some reasons against it might make sense, such as resource limitations. Many reasons against it do not make sense though, such as unrealistic ideas about balancing issues(pixel of death), JazonVorhees possibly finding the female voices annoying, or certain immature players doing weird things with the female soldiers in game.

..and some people here are just coming off sexist.. and not reasonable.

That's just insulting to say that representing women in the game should come in last place to anything else really.. or not done at all, and that all of those who wish for this feature should have to rely on just the possibility of a mod being made by someone to include this. To be honest, I find it insulting to not represent women in any way in the game considering all of the women in the military in real life.

Yes I have played a few mmo games.. and there's boobs galore because almost every outfit is extremely revealing (wouldn't be the case in Arma). I saw about as many male characters as I saw female characters in these games though, and the males outfits were somewhat revealing too lol. Even playing something like GTA in multiplayer where many of the people playing were obviously quite immature.. there were actually a lot more people playing as a male character than there were female.

Even if there were a fair amount of people playing as female in Arma (were that to become an available option).. and even if there were some people acting immature with the female characters.. then so what? There are some people acting immature as it is now anyway, and that's just how it is in any game. It's not a realistic reason against having female soldiers.

A realistic reason against having female soldiers that I could agree with would be time and resource limitations. However, unless you really know just how much work it really would be, then who are you to say it shouldn't be worked on.. not even for the full release.. or even sometime after in a dlc.

I don't know why you say they'd have to make all new animations etcetera for female soldiers. Why couldn't they use the same animations? Do you think the women should be moving in some over the top feminine way? No they shouldn't.

Arguments about different hit boxes for different shapes/sizes with female models don't sound realistic to me either since there is no need to make the women in the game tiny little skinny things.. or have major curves etc. They could be the same size with even a minute difference in body/face shape and still look like women with a different texture, hair, voice.

Btw, female gamers who play Arma are a minority yes. We're a minority in almost every game really. But we shouldnt be ignored. Using a game like GTA for example.. a game in which probably most people playing are male. You can still play as female in that game if you want to in multiplayer. Or.. did they allow that option only for the guys who want to drool over their character? ..even though they were dressed for winter looks like.

So then why do i see a pretty even balance between male and female characters in online games that give you the choice of which to play as? Sometimes guys play as girls for various reasons.. and vice versa.. big deal.

It's not even true to say that everyone will play as female (rather than everyone playing male as it is now), and it's not a good reason against having playable female soldiers. I could understand down voting if you thought having some female soldiers would ruin the game.. but I'd doubt that belief was rational.

Why would I like female characters?

Well.. Let's assume you're a guy. Now as a guy,imagine you enjoy arma, but all the soldiers in the game were female. Also, imagine almost every game out there has only female characters to play. Wouldn't you feel kind of left out? Kind of like hardly any game developers are making games with you in mind? I want to be able to play as a female damn it lol.

More variety in the playable characters is a good thing too.. Different races, and genders. That way you're team isn't a bunch of clones. It's true I hardly pay attention to what anyone else looks like.. except maybe when riding in a vehicle with them and looking around in first person. It's nice to have a character you can identify more with though.. and that's pretty much the biggest reason I want female characters. My character is mainly for my own happiness with my character.. except I play with my boyfriend sometimes, and I think he'd rather see me as a girl in the game too lol.

Also.. women come in different shapes and sizes in real life ya know lol.. any female soldier in the game wouldn't have to be some short little skinny hobbit that's hard to shoot :p ..just make them basically the same size as anyone else.
