Thank you for the report modis002.
We are aware of this issue #0020648 and it has been scheduled for a fix.
Regards,
Geez
this will work until the bug is fixed:
- have one stick in inventory
- put one rag in your hand
- press F11 to start suicide animation
- while in animation craft splint
i think it was non persistence server because after every server restart all the old loot disappeared and new loot spawned in instead
Try non persistent servers, everything works perfectly there. Persistence breaks a lot of things :(
Morphine works fine, but it is hard to find, so it's not very good replacement for splint...
i think morphine should work just fine because it uses different animation then crafting/guting
Same issue with splint making.
can i get any help?
would really appreciate it. thanks!
I can't craft a splint either, i'm stuck crawling forever :(
Hello,
Unfortunately, this is something that we cannot fix on our end. Please refer to the network troubleshooting guide below:
- Check all the physical devices on your network to ensure they are plugged in and powered on.
- Perform a connection test on each device connected to the network. For reference, here is a list of platform-specific troubleshooting guides:
NAT Types:
- Open
- Moderate
- Strict
Open NATs can connect to any of the three types. --> Probably the least common type
Moderate can only connect to open and moderate. --> Probably the most common type
Strict can ONLY connect to open.
Strict NATs are a difficult problem with peer-to-peer games. Since most people don't have open NATs, the player with a strict NAT won't be able to find many joinable games.
Also, if the player with a strict NAT does manage to join a game, if another player with a moderate NAT joins later, the player with the strict NAT gets kicked out.
Another problem is that sometimes the ISP (Internet Service Provider) is also behind a NAT, which often means even if you have a direct connection to the internet (without a router/firewall), the ISP still acts as a strict NAT.
Port Forwarding:
The following Ports need to be open on your router to connect to the online servers:
TCP 80, UDP 88, UDP 2302, UDP 2314, UDP 2326, 2338
If you need assistance with opening these ports, please refer to the following website for more information (you will need to know your router brand and model, as the website guides are based on specific routers)
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
Here are some additional tips that have helped many players improve their connectivity:
- Make sure your router's firmware is upgraded the latest version (very important).
- Unplug your router for 10 minutes and plug it back in. Some older routers degrade in performance over time until it is rebooted, similar to a PC.
- Disable any firewall or other network filtering for the game.
- Enable uPnP (universal plug and play) on your router.
- If you don't care about security, enable DMZ (de-militarized zone) on your router for your PC's address. This turns off all of your router's firewall features for that specific PC.
- Run 'cmd' in administrative mode and use command ipconfig /flushdns
- Contact your ISP and ask them what your DNS setting should be.
Direct Connection:
If you are still having issues connecting to the online servers after trying the above steps, try connecting your broadband modem directly to the console or PC you are playing the game on. This can help determine if the issue is related directly to the router or another source.
If this does not solve the problem, here's a suggestion that is a bit more drastic. Please be aware though; you might have to reinstall your other Steam games afterwards:
- Move the entire "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps" folder to your desktop. Your "SteamApps" folder should now be at the following location: "C:\Users\<username>\Desktop\SteamApps".
- Move the "DayZ" folder out of the "C:\Users\<username>\Desktop\SteamApps\common" folder and subsequently delete the "DayZ" folder.
- Uninstall Steam while making sure the "SteamApps" folder is still on your desktop.
- Install a new version of Steam.
- Go to the new "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps" folder.
- Move everything inside the old "SteamApps" folder on your desktop to the new "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps" folder.
- Install DayZ again.

And my steam id: sepulchure7
there is an issue with the rain, it will also cause the server to crash too. I have to restart the server until it stops raining that heavy.
I too would like it fixed. If the server is desyncing and we cant handle it with top end gear there is a small bug causing it to happen when it rains.

3rd person works fine, no reset here. In 1st person, my character is still resetted, it drives me mad....

It looks like crashes are server-dependent (of ping-dependent at least). I play some servers almost fine, but game crashes really quick on some others – major symptom is big latency between click and action (i.e. opening a door).
Hi ncharper04,
Good to hear that you managed to get out :)
In case you experience any other problems in the future, please feel free to submit another ticket.

Fixed itself. Logged in to see if my friend could help me in anyway and my character spawned outside the building.
Hi nervlos,
Thanks for sending in your feedback regarding this issue. You can always report abusive servers directly to the server hosts:
Multiplay: [email protected]
Vilayer: [email protected]
Fragnet: [email protected] or submit a ticket to their abuse department
GamingDeluxe: [email protected]
Gameservers: [email protected]
If you don't know which GSP the offending server is rented from, just send the report to all of them and they'll sort it out themselves.
- Remember to include the IP and port numbers, the server name is not enough*
You find these numbers by highlighting the server in the server browser, then selecting 'Detail' at the lower right. If you can't remember which server you were playing on, you can find it under the 'History' tab.
For future reference regarding reporting of servers, please feel free to use the information in the following post from the DayZ forums: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/

I reinstalled it, run it with admin but it still crashes...
For me it was pitch black when looking at the fire with the sun at my back but when I looked at the sunset it returned to normal. The sun was just setting on the horizon (dusk)
after looking at a fire in the dark, all i could see was the fire no matter where i looked after. (only way to fix was to extinguish the fire)
These campfires seem to think they're much brighter than they actually are. Might be waiting on the improved renderer to fix up lighting issues.

Hello mQuark91,
If you launch Steam and go to "View" --> "Settings" --> "Account", you should be able to click the small question mark icon by the line that reads "VAC Status". When clicking the question mark icon, you should get a list of games. Is DayZ SA on that list?
Regards,
JStewart
Very important, since the fire selector isn't usually visible.
