Can you use the items looted from the dead body?
Okay, happened to me as well:
Killed a guy, swapped his M4 for my Mosin. The Mosin disappeared by this. (The M4 was still on the dead body AND in my hands, Mosin was completely gone).
I fired 1 bullet and attached an ACOG Scope to the M4.
A friend of mine looted the body and took the M4: He now had the M4 with 1 shot lost and the ACOG scope attached.
The M4 including the ACOG scope disappeared out of my hands

a reseted character when joining the game is not a bug related to the game. These servers are falsely configured and can't connect to the central hive where your character is saved
Dayz can easily draw 600 kbit/s. My peak was at 1600 kbit/s
If your bandwidth isn't high enough you'll get a yellow chain and the rumoured desync
You can also view this at this screenshot: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/file_download.php?file_id=1634&type=bug
Edit:
The download bandwidth seems to be directly in relations to players around you. I can be in Cherno on an empty restarted server with lots of loot and zombies around. Everything works fine.
If 3-4 people join me I'll almost instantly get a very high download bandwidth
I can't believe it.
100000 posts to "eeeh, I'm getting desync devs help bla bla" and finally someone else who was able to pin the problem down ;).
I have the exact same problem: players in your vicinity create a huge amount of download bandwidth. It can easily reach over 800kbit/s or more
You can put your secondary weapon onto your back.
Then walk over the other weapon while it lies on the ground. Press Tab and choose "Take weapon in hand" (or something similar)
This problem occurs mainly when your download speed is too low. (Many ISP give you a much smaller bandwidth than stated in ads. It can also be lower in the evenings).
Dayz has somehow an immense download bandwidth. If I am alone it is around 100kbit/s. When other players get close it easily gets to over 800kbit/s or more.
My Mosins always fire about 10cm to the left on a distance of 500m. Even if I die and get a complete new one
I don't know that much about weapons, but I would assume that most Mosins have a slight tendency for some direction, because they're so old. (An expert would have to comment on this)
To get out you can try the following:
- stand next to the wall
- press "V"
- disconnect from the server while the animation is still running
- reconnect.
You can often get out of such things with this method
It is "not so simple".
The game offers xinput by default and this means that it should work.
Happened to me 3 times already. I was sprinting every time.
I already reported it privately. So plz delete it or make it private ASAP

You don't notice this until you try to change an item in your hands. That could be multiple minutes in which you didn't see another player or zombies, which attack you.
I died 3 times because of that issue already...
Hey matt,
this bug gets much easier to replicate if you have a very crappy internet connection.
Try to limit your bandwidth to about 30kbyte/s and join a server with a ping over 150.. Press ESC about 1 seconds after "ready" appears
A crappy connection seems to widen the time you have to duplicate
It is fixed already.
You have to eat and drink HUGE amounts! The even start regeneration you would have to eat over 7 packs of tuna and drink 2,5 canteens full of water. Don't forget that your character looses water and energy over time
Be sure to set mouse smoothing in the option to zero. That should disable the intertia you are feeling.
For the other thing: "Plus when i move my mouse too fast it's like it skip pixels or lose tracking"
This is normal when looking left/right. The game has a maximum rate of rotation that you can not exceed (That means that you can not turn instantly around 180 degrees or so).
If you move your mouse faster than the maximum allowed rotation speed, the character simply won't turn faster. As soon as you stop the mouse, the character will have only rotated a few degrees.
Try doing this in the up/down direction. This mechanism isn't applied there (so you can instantly look up or down)
What ISP and what router are you using?
I had a similar problem when I used the standart router of my ISP (Speedlink from Deutsche Telekom). But that happened in all games, not just Arma/DayZ
I can confirm this is true. The same happened to me as well.
If that happens you are also not able to change any items in your hands and you won't see zombies/other players that attack you. (I can reproduce this easily when I play and someone else starts a download in my network).
Also the server seems to not drop all things that have missed and simply give me any new information. The Server rather tends to resend me any infos that I have missed. So every movement and item-related happens seconds or even minutes later.
If I shoot somebody, he dies right away
DayZ also sometimes has a VERY high demand on my connection, draining over 400kbit/s (download direction)
Are you sure that you had enough distance to any objects or the walls?
