It looks weird, still...
the features provided by the show mod look very reasonable. It preserves realism and enables players to use the environment in a more dynamic way.
I'd really like BI to include this into the game. It would put the gameplay up to a new level like the new stance system did.
Looks like it's not possible to change the magazine via the action menu. Doing it by opening the inventory and swapping the magazine by hand, works fine.
of course CoD stuff shouldn't invade arma
but as far as i know, a knife is still part of a soldiers standard gear.. and not only for utility reasons. as long as it's realistic and you don't force it down peoples throats - it won't hurt the game
i don't like the single knife kill CoD nonsense ether... i'd consider something like this:
a basic knife (placed in your inventory like other weapons) - to use it you have to draw it (no quick knife) - about 3 hits needed to kill an enemy with full health... but instant kill from behind (to encourage some kind of stealth kills)
in addition you could also add a special attachment for weapons so you can mount the knife as a bayonet... (just an idea.. having a bayonet would make a huge difference in urban fights .. even though very risky
simply hand each solder a knife ^^
they can still run and look for ammo if they want.. but i'd really love the option of backstabbing an enemy from behind in order to keep things silent.
i like the idea of switching hands for CQB ... but it would also be a lot of work to revisit most animations for this.
though this feature would be great to have for urban fire fights
i'd consider removing the "Reload .." from the action menu, if you have different types of ammo and want to load another type, you should have to do this using the inventory system.
For normal reloading R is fine
There is also an issue about a new way accessing the GL
idea: 0006204
just give players the ability to pickup their own bombs without any need of kits.. since they might accidentally put a bomb on the ground.
i think accessing the inventory under water shouldn't be an issue. Most of the gear is water prove anyway.
i got the same problem... what helped was moving the weapon from the create to the ground.. than you can pick it up
they also walk through vehicles
