Hi Nimeri and thanks for the report!
We are aware of the problem with characters being teleported back when in V3s at a time of server restart (#19517) and it has been scheduled for a fix.
I am currently investigating the other problem with dying passenger.
Thanks again,
Andy
Are you experiencing similar issues when communicating via Skype/Teamspeak for example?
what microphone do you use? is it built-in webcam or headphones?
Hello JStewart,
I uploaded those screenshots you asked for. Should I try reinstalling the game because I have not done that yet?
Thank you for your help,
Logan
Neither, I don't use a microphone but I have friends that do and when they talk to me it doesn't play their audio through the speakers while I can hear all other in game sounds. Also using / to chat they can read my chats but theirs won't show up on my screen.
Hello theloganish,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Would it be possible for you to attach screenshots of your audio settings at the following locations please:
- Main menu --> Configure
and
- Main menu --> Configure --> Audio
Thanks,
JStewart
Hello doninphi,
The file from the error message is associated with your DirectX installation. I'd recommend that you perform a fresh installation of DirectX and see if the error message still appears: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113/en-us

Hello VolkieTheCat,
I checked your characters just to be sure, but all is good in the database. Since I can see that you've been able to play and interact with items before, this problem looks like a connection issue. Unfortunately, this is something that we cannot fix on our end. Please refer to the network troubleshooting guide below:
- Check all the physical devices on your network to ensure they are plugged in and powered on.
- Perform a connection test on each device connected to the network. For reference, here is a list of platform-specific troubleshooting guides:
NAT Types:
- Open
- Moderate
- Strict
Open NATs can connect to any of the three types. --> Probably the least common type
Moderate can only connect to open and moderate. --> Probably the most common type
Strict can ONLY connect to open.
Strict NATs are a difficult problem with peer-to-peer games. Since most people don't have open NATs, the player with a strict NAT won't be able to find many joinable games.
Also, if the player with a strict NAT does manage to join a game, if another player with a moderate NAT joins later, the player with the strict NAT gets kicked out.
Another problem is that sometimes the ISP (Internet Service Provider) is also behind a NAT, which often means even if you have a direct connection to the internet (without a router/firewall), the ISP still acts as a strict NAT.
Port Forwarding:
The following Ports need to be open on your router to connect to the online servers:
TCP 80, UDP 88, UDP 2302, UDP 2314, UDP 2326, 2338
If you need assistance with opening these ports, please refer to the following website for more information (you will need to know your router brand and model, as the website guides are based on specific routers)
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
Here are some additional tips that have helped many players improve their connectivity:
- Make sure your router's firmware is upgraded the latest version (very important).
- Unplug your router for 10 minutes and plug it back in. Some older routers degrade in performance over time until it is rebooted, similar to a PC.
- Disable any firewall or other network filtering for the game.
- Enable uPnP (universal plug and play) on your router.
- If you don't care about security, enable DMZ (de-militarized zone) on your router for your PC's address. This turns off all of your router's firewall features for that specific PC.
- Run 'cmd' in administrative mode and use command ipconfig /flushdns
- Contact your ISP and ask them what your DNS setting should be.
Direct Connection:
If you are still having issues connecting to the online servers after trying the above steps, try connecting your broadband modem directly to the console or PC you are playing the game on. This can help determine if the issue is related directly to the router or another source.
Regards,
JStewart
Hello,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. If you send me a link to your Steam profile, I'll have a look at your character. Example: "http://steamcommunity.com/id/xxxxxxxxxx/"
Also, please let me know if your character is on a "1st/3rd Person" or a "1st Person" server.
If you prefer to send your Steam ID url in a private message, you can click the "Make Private" button to the left of your message after you click the button labeled "Add Note".
Thanks,
JStewart
This is a rant more then a bug report.
It has happened to me twice, re gear up and play again.
Hi snakeyjake13 and sorry to hear about your trouble.
We are aware of the issue and it might take some time to go away - please be patient. Sadly, we do not return lost characters.
Regards,
Andy
Alright, I'll close the ticket then. Based on the information that you provided, it does seem like the problem is performance related and not related to your connection. This is most likely due to the game not having been optimized yet (this will be addressed by the team as development of the game progresses). In case you run into any other problems, please feel free to submit a new ticket.
Regards,
JStewart
I would like to say that I'm on a server and it is fine now
JStewart that's the thing I don't know. A has never happened to me before. My internet is Top Notch and I have tried so many severs with 50-60 ping and it is the same on evey sever. I don't know if anyone else is having this issue. Nothing has happened to my Internet and all my other games are smooth. I think it might be the games fault because it's when I look down its smooth and when I look up its liggy
Hi Anvy,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Are you referring to connection lag or performance issues?
Regards,
JStewart
Keep hitting P and check your name with Desync. It could be a network problem on your side at this time or your current server connection.
Also exit game, restart it if it goes all funny like that again. Dayz most likely will crash on you. This is a perfectly good sign dayz was causing it with a memory leak or exe problem.
This is happening to everyone right now. They are very aware of this and its being repaired right now. It was in the patch notes prior.
Hi Darvolin and thank you for your report - we are aware of this (#19253) and currently tweaking some parameters - we'll see if it helps.
Thanks again,
Andy
a i remind some strange issues with some servers, they display public but are private.
Hello,
If you send me a link to your Steam profile as well as the server info (ip and port number), I can check if you've been logging on to a private server. Example: "http://steamcommunity.com/id/xxxxxxxxxx/"
If you prefer to send your Steam ID url in a private message, you can click the "Make Private" button to the left of your message after you click the button labeled "Add Note".
Thanks,
JStewart
Every Vilayer server listed as Public is like logging into another hive for me. I have a separate character with persistent loot across those Vilayer servers, but Gameservers and Fraqnet and the rest all have another character. This is all 3rd person public, no hardcore, experimental, or 1st person servers.
all your server are public hive?

Hello,
Sorry to hear about the character resets. Unfortunately, this problem is a known issue that has previously been reported. The devs are aware of the problem related to character save loss and they'll be working on fixing it. It seems to be a bit difficult to nail down (and thus fix) the problem, but please rest assured that it will be addressed during development.
Closing as duplicate of #78.

JStewart
there are many other similar issues, maybe some of them are equal.
I just wanted to say sorry if this is in the wrong place. I was just very confused to where I am suppose to report this. Thanks in Advance.
Hi,
No need to apologize; it's the correct place to send in your info :) Your problem should now be solved. In case you encounter any further problems, please feel free to open up a new ticket in the Feedback Tracker.

It was the town just past the Big tent city in cochobka
I went around the corner as the bumpy road threw me into the north end past the last right north house before the vehicle spawn just north of that.
I went poof right into the ground bouncing up and down then into the ground. Re spawned as I couldn't see my guy in 3rd either and I was dead but it didn't say I was dead.
Didn't check to see if it was desyncing at the time.
Guess I might have been driving too fast? lol ill learn from my next speeding ticket ehhe
Hi FIRMSneakydude,
would it be possible to let me know where this happened?
Thank you,
Andy
So far no new info, I'm afraid. I'll chase the issue and get back as soon as I receive news.
Any information about my issue?
Ok. Thanks for your help.
IP: 217.23.9.123:2302 Time: 7:09 PM GMT+00:00
Thanks for sending in your information. We'll perform an investigation and see if we can spot the cause for your disconnects.
Would you be able to reproduce the disconnect and post the server info (ip + port number) as well as the exact time (along with your time zone) when you get disconnected from that server please?
Did that you said. Didn't help. I still got 'No message received' at exactly 15 minutes on the server.
No luck. I really hope the next stable update some how fixes this.
Alright, please perform the following steps:
- Start Steam and right click on DayZ in your game library (make sure that the game is not running).
- Select the tab labeled "Local Files".
- Click on the button labeled "Verify integrity of game cache...".
After the process is done, please try out the following:
Delete all battleye folders in your app folder "C:users\<username>\appdata\local\dayz\battleye" and in your steam folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DayZ\BattlEye". Then create new battleye folders there and copy the battleye.dll which you can download from battleye.com: http://battleye.com/download.html
I am just using the default antivirus that comes with Win8, Windows defender. I will try disconnecting my internet for a while and disabling my antivirus and firewall to see if it works.
Hi,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Which antivirus program are you using? When the "No message received" message appears, it is due to your connection being disrupted/broken.
Regards,
JStewart
i think it will only work if you relog.
I managed to change the frequenzy, but never was able to be heard by my mate...
Same here. I've been at the top of green mountain tower and heard people communicating on my frequency, but they never responded to me despite several attempts and it saying 87.8 MHz at the bottom left.
> not working properly
Hi dayzdayv and thank you for the report!
We are aware of this (#19517) and it has been scheduled for a fix.
