From 3.4 to 3.8 GHz is done by a CPU boost feature. 3.8 to 4.2 GHz is taken care of by MSI Afterburner. The OC is VERY stable (all sorts of stress tested passed) and I have used it since September 2012 without issues.
- I use 'Nvidia Experience' software to manage/update video drivers. Is this enough?
- Will try that!
- Since I have found a solid OC after much tweaking and testing I'm not that keen to change it.
- Fans are running according to a set temp curve. I monitor all temps (both CPU and GPU) so I know heat isn't an issue here.
- VSYNC was disabled when last CTD happend.
- Will try that!
- I have gone down from Ultra to Very High. I have a solid framrate and CPU usage is around 55-60%. Changing down didn't change anything.
Thanx for your feedback. I'll try again with suggested tips and check what happens.
Weapon damage is totally off - helmets or not. Tried it with a friend just now: 2 round with the pistol, point blank range, straight in the eye. He didn't die. 3rd shot killed him.
Is this the way an Arma game should be?!? It used to be about realism...
Engine shouldn't be damaged when wheels touch surface. Have a look at a SBS or Navy Seal speedboat helo exctraction and you know what I mean.

Collision detection needs an overhaul all over.
Its not unlimited but way too long.
I clocked 4+ minutes with a helo pilot.
Agreed! I use it a lot while flying and those extra seconds can prove fatal as I often fly at low altitude.
There is... I dropped a friend of in water and dipped the skids a little. I instantly got the tunnel vision for reasons unknown. I guess the game thought I damaged the helo and got injured or something.
I might be wrong but isn't the compass size locked to the interface size here? Try setting interface to large under options and check what happens.
Most of the instruments such as torque gauge, temp gauge and fuel gauge aren't functional. Its just static images as it seems. Hope this will be different in the full version!
I've tried the lamp post thing but the blades went through without damage to either helo or lamp post.
I don't understand why the helo takes damage from dipping skids in water and landing on buildings? I also quite like that it doesn't break down completley during a hard landing like in Arma 2. But I agree - they can take a bit too much punishment sometimes.
I saw a Sikorsky land on the runway (just like a plane) and taxiing yesterday when I drove past my local airport. So yes - it would be a cool feature in Arma III.
Must be something wrong with your view key assignments or something because this works like a charm for me. With our without TrackIR5.
I have my MSI Nvidia GTX680 Lightning OC'ed to 1300 MHz using Afterburner, but I don't have any problems with latest stable version of Afterburner and the Arma III Alpha together.
You can if you aim up a bit. It happens when the muzzle is a few inches/cm's above water.
What type of CPU/GPU loads are you having just before it stops working? Is the OC stable in all other games/performance tests?
My not so lightly OC'ed MSI Nvidia GTX 680 isn't causing any problems. Im using MSI Afterburner.
TrackIR 5 with latest drivers worked fine without any manual tweaking for me.
