Turns out I misinterpreted the meaning of this Steam achievement ("saving yourself" is triggered by helping Miller/CRTG instead of NATO). The text is confusing, especially as another achievement right beforehand it given for taking a side at the end...
Hmm, I think I get it now :

Game freezes totally when I open the map, in single player (The East Wind mission file tanoa_intro1) while in a humvee and during a vocal briefing about the mission.
Other condition : after loading a manual Exit Saved game.
To be precise : the mouse freezes completely and can no longer be used on the PC (forcing me to use Cntl-Alt-Del > Sign Out of Windows).

I add my +1 here.

FYI : I checked and the AI Skill level is set to 70 in my settings.

Skill Levels : forgot to check that. Would they evade if their skill level was increased ? I do don't think so, but need to test it.

OK, so I did over 100 tests I think, though I stopped counting so not sure ...

Cool, I will gladly conduct tests in the editor (without any mods just to be sure) for this issue (set three tanks: 2 in LOS, 1 targeted but out of sight and command an AT soldier) and also for the other one issue I also posted recently (AI not evading their exploding vehicle).

Basically, any damage or 'attack' you do is treated like you had fired at them and revealed your position. Ironically, this reaction has many exceptions for bullets, like if you have a silencer and do not fire too often, you remain hidden.
This is NOT at all resolved. I have therefore created a Subtask.

I am a bit pissed ... I had to restart Supply Network mission from scratch three times yesterday due to this uncool logic.
I am a bit pissed that it is tagged Fixed, when it is not at all in single player campaigns.

From what I can see, this is how the game was designed, so probably not a bug as such, but a buggy design.
