Doesn't look -pitch black- to me. There's a lot of daytime servers now, so if you want to look around I suggest you hop servers until you find a daytime one.

I have tried first person, does not work. Although I remember trying it once in a different pond, after going in first person, looking down, then free-looking upwards gave me the option (just once I think)

This is NOT a bug with DayZ, it is an issue with Steam's Authentication servers.

This bug report should be removed.

^this, it's steam auth servers, and steam can and will resolve this. Happened yesterday as well

I have met people in game who told me it worked before the first or second update, after that it seems broken, so it might have been broken while fixing another bug.

Please remove this, as it is not a bug. The value of this system is to identify and categorize bugs.
