This is still a problem. Occurs multiple times a day and is 100% reproducable. Added to that, whatever was done during yesterdays maintenance period, made it so that when the last person leaves the server, the mission/ingame simulation seem to stop. When joining again the ingame time is showing 09:00, indicating that the simulation has been reset.
yes with all of our servers too, some of them public I have noticed the same things. I just posted about police cars and realized the server had the same problem.
It allows you to run around the map, but the server actually is locked up with no restarting message, or disconnection message. Its almost as if it hasn't disconnected from the master hive @ BI.
So the thing is, when this is all happening the Rcon tool doesn't allow you to restart the server normally. In fact the restart seems to not work right at all. The shutdown only seems to fix the issue. Something is hanging up in the networking as far as I can tell. Nothing has happened prior to this before, it has happened since 2 wed ago now.
Others are also complaining about the same issues.
@JStewart I've sent the support ticket conversation.
Same here with our vilayer server.
it is a problem. Our server on vilayer sometimes acts the same, we have a public hive. You really have to wait, if the server gets stuck, I have to restart it manually again. Then it works.
Very frequent occurance recently.... really glad someone brought this up
@'Linus Leonard' Thank you for the info, that I don't join empty servers anymore. Lost my character today :/
Hello Linus,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Could you send a copy of your correspondence with your GSP to the following email address please: [email protected]?
Thanks,
JStewart
It happened this morning. I saw on our Gametracker that the server was offline about 30 minutes after it's scheduled restart. When I started the game and went to the ingame browser, the ingame time was 9:20. As far as I understand, this is usually a number that the server goes through before the actual game simulation has started. When I logged in to the server I first got "wait for host", and then I had a new character instead of my old one. When I logged out and checked the ingame browser again, the ingame time was 9:01, indicating that the simulation didn't start until I logged in. As per the BEC logs below (GUIDs and IPs are removed, my ingame name is bushman), there was no other person logging in before me.
05:31:00 : RCon admin #0: (Global) SERVER RESTART IN 5 MINUTES!
05:36:00 : RCon admin #0: (Global) SERVER RESTART IN ONE MINUTE! LOG OFF NOW TO SAVE YOUR GEAR AND POSITION! To avoid the character reset bug, do to NOT log in again until server time is showing XX.01 (i.e. do not log in when it says 08:00, 09:00, 12:00, or 09:20).
05:36:16 : Player #0 DI.MSI disconnected
05:37:19 : Lost Connection!
05:37:19 : Closing socket & exiting!
05:38:04 : Rcon client logging in
05:38:04 : RCon admin #0 (XXX) logged in
05:58:58 : Player #0 bushman (XXX) connected
05:59:30 : Player #0 bushman - GUID: XXX (unverified)
05:59:33 : Verified GUID (XXX) of player #0 bushman
06:01:20 : Player #0 bushman disconnected
It happened this morning again. Server was set in the 9:20 limbo and didn't startup properly until I joined the server. So the issue should definitely be reproducable. However, my character didn't get wiped this time, although I had to reconnect a couple of times before I even got in.
I don't know if this is a known issue or not. Our hosting partner refers to Bohemia in this matter in their ticket system (ticket #1462708). They also asked me to use their reset world feature, which supposedly resets the "persistency files", but it had no effect on the limbo issue.
Hello GRINGOJS,
Thanks for sending in your feedback on this subject. I have also experienced this issue when playing with friends. The problem here is not a bug though since it is connection related. For this reason I'll close the ticket.

Hi,
Thanks for sending in your information. The cause of you not being able to access game servers with your character is due to the sheer amount of items that you've been carrying around. Logging on with an inventory of 3000+ items can result in servers bogging down.
Your account should be good to go again, but we had to fix it by killing the character. In case you encounter any further problems, please feel free to submit a new ticket on the Feedback Tracker.

on the favourites list it tells me there are players. even with varying numbers on refresh. in the server list i get zero... i just wonder why there are no informations found about it. or maybe i searched the wrong places
i'got this, too. since yesterday i am not able to join any 0.53 servers. be it 1st or 1st/3rd person... this is frustrating
Is any one getting on? as on the server list it says 0/50 on all exp servers for me.

Hello srthd,
Sorry to hear about the loss of your character. Unfortunately, we won't be able to reinstate your lost inventory/character. This problem is a known issue that has previously been reported, the devs are aware of the problem and they'll be working on fixing it.

no no luck yet got some more gear up and got killed on a friendly server so now im super pissed lol
Any luck getting the reset fixed?
Hi leobom and thank you for your feedback.
We were not able to reproduce this anymore as the whole fireplace system and its craftability have been tweaked a bit.
Please feel free to submit a new ticket if the issue persists.
Regards,
Andy
This has been the case for quite a while, you need to drop the backpack (or the clothing item in which you are carrying the fireplace kit), then you can drag it out.
Annoying, especially since it might screw up your hotkeys (or let things disappear completely, depending on where you drop it).
Given that in current beta you cannot attach anything to the fireplace kit, much less light it, and there's a new inventory icon, I'd say we're looking at an issue that may resolve itself.
Thanks, bromley!
We were aware of this and it should not be possible anymore after the next patch.
Regards,
Andy
Nice report, hopefully when the game comes out we won't have to worry about hackers
Hey r0k0 and thank you for the feedback.
We are aware of this as it has been reported before (#20648) and working on a fix.

Hello Crymaster123,
Unfortunately, this is something that we cannot fix on our end. Please refer to the network troubleshooting guide below:
- Check all the physical devices on your network to ensure they are plugged in and powered on.
- Perform a connection test on each device connected to the network. For reference, here is a list of platform-specific troubleshooting guides:
NAT Types:
- Open
- Moderate
- Strict
Open NATs can connect to any of the three types. --> Probably the least common type
Moderate can only connect to open and moderate. --> Probably the most common type
Strict can ONLY connect to open.
Strict NATs are a difficult problem with peer-to-peer games. Since most people don't have open NATs, the player with a strict NAT won't be able to find many joinable games.
Also, if the player with a strict NAT does manage to join a game, if another player with a moderate NAT joins later, the player with the strict NAT gets kicked out.
Another problem is that sometimes the ISP (Internet Service Provider) is also behind a NAT, which often means even if you have a direct connection to the internet (without a router/firewall), the ISP still acts as a strict NAT.
Port Forwarding:
The following Ports need to be open on your router to connect to the online servers:
TCP 80, UDP 88, UDP 2302, UDP 2314, UDP 2326, 2338
If you need assistance with opening these ports, please refer to the following website for more information (you will need to know your router brand and model, as the website guides are based on specific routers)
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
Here are some additional tips that have helped many players improve their connectivity:
- Make sure your router's firmware is upgraded the latest version (very important).
- Unplug your router for 10 minutes and plug it back in. Some older routers degrade in performance over time until it is rebooted, similar to a PC.
- Disable any firewall or other network filtering for the game.
- Enable uPnP (universal plug and play) on your router.
- If you don't care about security, enable DMZ (de-militarized zone) on your router for your PC's address. This turns off all of your router's firewall features for that specific PC.
- Run 'cmd' in administrative mode and use command ipconfig /flushdns
- Contact your ISP and ask them what your DNS setting should be.
Direct Connection:
If you are still having issues connecting to the online servers after trying the above steps, try connecting your broadband modem directly to the console or PC you are playing the game on. This can help determine if the issue is related directly to the router or another source.
Alternatively, you can try out the following suggestions:
- Start Steam and right click on DayZ in your game library (make sure that the game is not running).
- Select the tab labeled "Local Files".
- Click on the button labeled "Verify integrity of game cache...".
- Start DayZ once the process is complete.
If this does not solve the problem, here's a suggestion that is a bit more drastic. Please be aware though; you might have to reinstall your other Steam games afterwards:
- Move the entire "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps" folder to your desktop. Your "SteamApps" folder should now be at the following location: "C:\Users\<username>\Desktop\SteamApps".
- Move the "DayZ" folder out of the "C:\Users\<username>\Desktop\SteamApps\common" folder and subsequently delete the "DayZ" folder.
- Uninstall Steam while making sure the "SteamApps" folder is still on your desktop.
- Install a new version of Steam.
- Go to the new "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps" folder.
- Move everything inside the old "SteamApps" folder on your desktop to the new "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps" folder.
- Install DayZ again.

JStewart

Sorry to hear about your trouble. If you send me a link to your Steam profile, I'll have a look at your character. Example: "http://steamcommunity.com/id/xxxxxxxxxx/"
Also, please let me know if your character is on a "1st/3rd Person" or a "1st Person" server.

Hello fillep22,

Hi oshi,
Thanks for sending in your feedback regarding this issue. You can always report abusive servers directly to the server hosts:
Multiplay: [email protected] (in this case)
Vilayer: [email protected]
Fragnet: [email protected] or submit a ticket to their abuse department
GamingDeluxe: [email protected]
Gameservers: [email protected]
If in the future you don't know which GSP the offending server is rented from, just send the report to all of them and they'll sort it out themselves.
- Remember to include the IP and port numbers, the server name is not enough*
You find these numbers by highlighting the server in the server browser, then selecting 'Detail' at the lower right. If you can't remember which server you were playing on, you can find it under the 'History' tab.
For future reference regarding reporting of servers, please feel free to use the information in the following post from the DayZ forums: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/

Hi Bevy300 and thank you for your report.
We are aware of this bug and working on it (#19433).
Regards,
Andy
only put the stuff about it out (take it) so the Slots are free and then the Server has to restart. So the Slots get a new order.
There is no other way :(
Hello,
To begin with I would recommend that you try to verify the integrity of the game cache:
- Start Steam and right click on DayZ in your game library (make sure that the game is not running).
- Select the tab labeled "Local Files".
- Click on the button labeled "Verify integrity of game cache...".
- Start DayZ once the process is complete.
If this does not solve the issue, could you then attach a screenshot of your filter settings from the server browser please?
Regards,
JStewart
