Firefighters pants are having the same glitch

What I am suggesting is that the chainsaw should come back as the most powerful melee weapon in the game, with its main purpose being base building and base raiding. Make them very rare, very heavy, and very thirsty for fuel so that they are balanced for the amount of power they'd have.

This includes patching tires, welding car parts, repairing engines, repairing clothes, cleaning guns, etc.

They have fixed it. It used to happen much more often. This glitch hasn't happened to me since they patched it. Perhaps the latest version reintroduced the bug.

To clarify, this was observed on PS5

I restarted the game and it seems okay now. I think you might have a memory leak.

It's PS5 and 3D audio is not enabled.

Maybe add that as a tip in the game loading screen.
