Was the terminal in your GPS slot, or elsewhere in your inventory (e.g. chest rig)?
Since it's clearly infeasible at this point in development, why not just fake it for watercraft (where it is most noticable)?
Make them appear to sink in to the surface a little to simulate being below the horizon, a bit like the way infantry sink in to a surface to simulate grass at long range.
After checking logs, I've found that my router was causing the problem (Philips 11G-ADSL). Attempting to connect using command line parameters causes it to log "UDP Flood to Host", while connecting from the in-game browser does not. Turning off one of its firewall features fixes this issue.
On the off-chance somebody else with the same horrible router finds this, you need to disable "SPI and Anti-DoS firewall protection", at Firewall -> Intrusion Detection.
I do not know exactly what the criteria used by the router to detect a DoS are.
Can anybody shed any light on how Arma's network behaviour varies between connections from the in-game browser and connections via -connect?
I do believe I was TKed by the same player. I think the nick was chosen expressly to be difficult to kick.
I hope the current system is a placeholder - in Arma 2, one can vote from a graphical list (Map -> Server control) as well as with "#vote kick username", and this problem would be fixed completely by implementing a similar graphical voting dialogue in A3.
"I know that this game is being modeled after the IDF"
I would like to know how you know that - BLUFOR represents various NATO forces, and Israel is not a NATO member.
The only connection I can see here is that the TRG-20/21 are modelled on an Israeli weapon (the TAR-21), but at least currently they seem to be OPFOR weapons.
As for the actual issue of female soldiers, there are already a large number of posts about that, but bugs about missing units seem a bit odd. There are also no tanks or fixed-wing aircraft, for example, and I thought it was obvious that the Alpha contains a subset of the units that are planned for Arma 3.

That's the animation for walking with the gun lowered. Double-tap left ctrl to toggle between that, and both hands on the gun.
To clarify, does that mean that, currently, vanilla weapons cannot accept community attachments?
Disagree. Switching carriers is a perfectly sensible way of quickly changing loadouts, and one that mission makers may want to use.
I am not sure that you realise that the servers are not operated by BIS. Anybody can host an Arma game, and people who like Wasteland, are hosting Wasteland games. You can host a game too.
Also, stop listing servers in order of number of players! Most of the more milsim-ish missions have fewer slots than Wasteland.
It looks like there is just a filter that is applied either to the entire screen, or to none of it.
As of 0.58.105348, I can no longer reproduce this bug, at least with a Ka-60.
Presume this is related to SPOTREP 4's "Improved ‘fording depth’ for helicopters to deal with ‘landing’ on water better".
Apologies if the category is not appropriate - I presume the drowning effects are part of the health system.
If you crash when OC'ed, and don't crash when not OC'ed, you don't have a stable overclock. You can verify this with something like furmark.
