How you walk in game.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I hate how you walk in game now. Its stupid how you walk with one hand on the gun and another chilling on your thigh. In real life you would walk with hands on both guns. I don't think i want to get the game anymore if they don't change that. For something like dayz that would look stupid. when your on a mission walking in a area you would need to be cautious with both hands on the gun. If you ask any military personnel they would tell you to have both hands on the gun at all times.

i dont think that this is as important as the tag states, calm down, it looks a bit weird but is not gamebreaking in any way

What the hell is with the priority on this? "I don't like the walking animation, drop everything and change it!"

this is an _opinion_ on a purely aesthetic / visual topic, and you have marked it with the highest severity and priority available...let me put in perspective where you've ranked your dissenting opinion of a visual animation with cases of the same severity/priority:

"Arma 3 does not launch"
"Game crash on startup and in game"
"I don't like the walking animation"

please use the reporting features made available to you from the development team - a priviledge enough IMO - sensibly so that you don't waste time of people like me and others.

No. Military does actually walk like that. Ive seen it in footage, and pictures.
Youre either a troll, or a guy that wants to look badass in a game..

Voting this down for several reasons.

It's not "immediate" priority, nor is it of "major" severity. The fact that you think so shows you don't know much about how to produce intelligent feedback. (An example of "immediate" with "major" is that the game is randomly crashing for a large majority of the player base currently playing, and that it is causing severe issues for them.)

Second, you obviously don't understand what this animation is for. It's meant to be more of an at-ease, or patrolling walk animation. Notice the trigger discipline being applied here, along with the gun being lowered and the model walking in a relaxed way, which demonstrates how the animation should be used at times when you are not in any dangerous combat scenario. (The whole animation is the exact opposite of what someone would do in one, minus the fact that they are still maintaining a grasp on their weapon as opposed to slinging it onto their back.)

Think before you post next time, please.

You can always walk tactically with the gun by your cheek. I like the animation with walking with the rifle put down.

There is actually a second relaxed walk animation that seems to trigger randomly and during it the character holds his weapon with both hands.

However, You could simply walk with the weapon raised stance for faster response to possible threats. As ClockworkVendetta said, relaxed walking is for moving when there is no sign of threats.

Definitely not an immediate priority issue, as already stated by others.

Down voted, this doesn't even look wrong at all, you have to have your gun down for it to even happen.

I agree, I dislike the walking animation - BUT - It's aesthetic, it doesn't change the game in any way in my opinion.
I think it's a bit petty saying, and I quote; "I don't think i want to get the game anymore if they don't change that". It's so minor, how could that affect your gameplay experience?

I agree with you, but I don't think this needed to be an immediate, major issue. I think having the elbow bent is a bit derpy. If the arm weren't bent it'd probably look a lot better.

careless walk is careless walk.
voting down (and would vote even more for the severity/priority-categorisation).

This is again a perfect example for voting this up: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=2811

That's the animation for walking with the gun lowered. Double-tap left ctrl to toggle between that, and both hands on the gun.
