Is there any word on this? A lot of people talking about the big desync issues seem to specifically say that their ping is fine. My friend just started playing and his ping just shoots way up (into the hundreds, sometimes over 1000), Desync goes to 100000, and then it kicks him. It seems to be related to people being around him. It's also possible that it's CERTAIN people. I can't seem to go near him at all for example. The one time I was able to get close to him it was because he logged in while I was waiting in the spot he was at. He walked around a little but I was invisible to him and then it kicked him off after a minute.
EDIT: It's DEFINITELY related to being near me. If we manage to get close, I can see him but he can't see me and then it just desyncs for him until he gets kicked.
I'd say a good 50% of the time I try to help someone out they get all defensive about their abilities, like I'm questioning them. "I play with settings which maximize your fps" could mean different things to different people, but all I was doing was making sure because mine seemed to get adjusted without me touching it.
In the rendering settings make sure ambient occlusion is shut off.
Last patch I logged on and inexplicably had an extra 8-10 frames and I was like "whoa this is amazing!" Then I realized that ambient occlusion had been shut off by default. Yours could be on.
If it's normally on and you've still lost 8 frames then I'm out of input!
Can you cause it to happen or is it just random?
Like if you hang out indoors for 5 minutes is it guaranteed to happen?
Can you post a video of it by chance?
You have to change your folder settings to show hidden files and folders.
You should be able to go to folder options if you just type "Folder Options" into the search bar in your start menu.
If not:
Go to your control panel, then go to Appearance and Personalization, then go to Folder Options, go to the "view" tab and select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives"
I did this with Windows 7

EDIT: I just saw that you had Windows 8 so I hope some of this instruction carries over. Give me a second and I'll find instructions for Windows 8, I'm not familiar with that OS yet.
EDIT2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2gynTX09ZA <-This guy explains how to do it in multiple ways in Windows 8.
I get it sometimes on the home screen (play, change server, character, etc.), I don't think I've ever got it logging into a server though.
Here's a video of what I'm experiencing:

Rubberbanding/Desync is really bad in latest patch. These teleportations seem to happen when approaching a city or area with lots of structures/loot. It will happen as you approach the city from an open area (fields/forests) and then usually once when you're actually in the city or airfield, as demonstrated here. Once you're in the city for a while the teleportation doesn't seem to happen. It's just things like not getting the option to open doors, inventory not responding to manipulation, and vaulting button not responding that continue to happen in cities.
I've also never experienced this. The last few days I've been running fraps the whole time (overlay active) and I've had no issues. I've also recorded for brief periods of time, it seemed to make no difference.
Glad I could find this issue to up vote. Just realized that DayZ was doing this today. It has happened a few times to me but I always thought it was related to my internet, then today I was like "I think DayZ is causing this. There's no way it's a coincidence that it always happens when I start up DayZ." Sure enough, you guys confirmed it. This is a pretty big issue in my mind. Hope the gradual improvement is quick gradual and not slow gradual.
Just heard it at NWAF. I thought maybe I just heard wrong but when I got hit it was a metallic clanking sound. That may be a bad way to describe it but it was a different sound than what it should have been.
This has happened to me as well and my situation was similar to dan's. It's a pretty dangerous thing to happen when you're at an airfield.
I think they should. People need to value their lives a little more. Of course, this shouldn't be the only method of doing that. But I always thought it was fun to know and I did pay attention to it.
I've also experienced this problem. I didn't start getting it until after the first patch I believe it was.
This is still happening. The way I get the sliding to happen is by vaulting (jumping), releasing the V button in the air, and then rotating 90 degrees (roughly) before I hit the ground. Will post a video shortly demonstrating this.

There's the video. There I got it three times in a row but sometimes doing it only resulted in walking really slowly instead of sliding. Either way you didn't have to press any of the movement keys and I think your character would just continue forward indefinitely. You can stop it by pressing one of the movement keys.
Not sure whether to up vote this or not. I think the real issue is there is no consistency with it. Sometimes I can see things around me, other times I have to be standing on them, and still other times I can't get an item to show up for the life of me.
It wouldn't be so bad except for I have to be so precise when picking something up by placing my cursor directly on it.
Kk thanks it sounds so similar but I feel like I'm able to go back and forth between monitors most of the time. Will report back!
EDIT: I was unable to reproduce it, unfortunately.
I had a crash last night and it may be related to this but I'm not sure. Quick question for fusionross, is it every time you click outside the screen (go to the second monitor) or just sometimes? I go between monitors quite a bit but I had a crash last night and don't know if it was related to going to the second monitor. Going to test it out and now and I'll provide any relevant information if it comes up.
This also happens to me on a random percentage of the time. It's better than it used to be but it definitely still happens multiple times per DayZ session.
