I was just about to make a ticket about this issue. Sad to see this bug has been around since 1.72 (over a year now) but hasn't been officially acknowledged yet.

I've recently noticed that if you enter splendid camera and move the camera close to the falling vehicle, you can hear a continuous driving sound effect which is odd and may have a link to the source of the bug.

I brought this issue up on the forums as well on 1st April and the post seemed to get a lot of support (https://forums.bohemia.net/forums/topic/143930-general-discussion-dev-branch/?page=970&tab=comments#comment-3280362). This feature request would solve a lot of frustration.

I've been getting this crash and error mutliple times while playing one of the new Tac-Ops missions for the DLC. I haven't been running any mods other than some Steam Workshop community produced scenarios (which shouldn't have any effect on playing a BI produced scenario). I've got an error report saved if you need it.

Yeah, as an issue it definitely ranks low on importance compared to other issues. However, I figured it's still worth identifying since it's clearly not an intended "feature" by the developers.
Maybe I've been swimming incorrectly IRL all this time then.
I agree that this needs fixing, it can be very counter-intuitive when shooting a weapon with a low muzzle velocity like the ASP-1 while while leaning (weapon is canted) and the bullet still magically flies in a perfect vertical arch when it shouldn't.
