Blueski added a comment to T61959: AI reflexes are extremely bad even at max skills.

I think the eagle eyed AI is a problem. If its skill level is high enough it can spot you lying still in grass and yet most players would struggle to do the same with the graphics/draw distance maxed out.
Their reflexes are still poor, maybe this could do with improving in cqb situations.

Blueski added a comment to T61847: AI has to high awareness and too high accuracy at long ranges.

Is also very similar to this, it might explain some other AI issues people are having.

Blueski added a comment to T61081: Some sort of melee?.

They still issue bayonets to the armies of the world don't they?

"British forces in Afghanistan have used bayonets many times. In 2009, Lieutenant James Adamson, aged 24, of the Royal Regiment of Scotland was awarded the Military Cross for a bayonet charge whilst on a tour of duty in Afghanistan: after shooting one Taliban fighter dead Adamson had run out of ammunition when another enemy appeared. Adamson immediately charged the second Taliban fighter and bayoneted him.[41] In September 2012, Lance Corporal Sean Jones of The Princess of Wales's Regiment was awarded the Military Cross for his role in a bayonet charge which took place in October 2011.[42]"

Blueski added a comment to T60492: Bullet-penetration not realistic.

Meanwhile this video serves as a bit of a cheat sheet if you're playing multiplayer. I'll remember to hide behind one of those outdoor walls, as they even stop a .50 cal round.

upvoting this, definitely a feature that needs bolstering and further testing.

Blueski added a comment to T60057: AI has 360 degree situational awareness and fires before fully turned around./ AI is too accurate,etc...

I'll try and reproduce this , otherwise it should be simple to prove if what people are saying is true. :)

We need to try this from both ends of the AI spectrum. So one run of each of these with a stupid and a smart AI.

Suggested tests:

  1. One OPFOR soldier located inside their weapons max range, with their back to you, fire a shot to miss while prone, how quickly did they kill you?
  2. One OPFOR soldier located just outside their weapons max range, with their back to you, fire a shot to miss while prone, how quickly did they kill you?
  3. One OPFOR soldier located an additional 200m away to the previous test(note distance), with their back to you, fire a shot to miss while prone, how quickly did they kill you?

Repeat step 3 as many times as you can.

Worth a pop anyone? its just a suggestion ;)

Blueski added a comment to T60025: No female soldiers models available.

Saying its moot because we don't have a button for polishing our boots or opening a tin of beans doesn't float with me. Thats rather a flippant comparison. Yes actions are abstracted with good reason, but not people.

I'd say it would add to immersion, as women are in the army and you would see them. Just like a chopper or a tank. Its not the 80's anymore, you could get away with this in Flashpoint, but the tech and times have moved on, why not the personnel?

I agree with the boot camp idea, not sure how that would go down but i'd stick my vote up for that.

Disregarding the political angle, the fact remains ARMA is a military simulation game(notice i said game), its a pretty good replica of real world(to a point). If you can have RL female pilots, tank drivers, AA gunners etc, the factual reasoning is sound.

Yes the community will probably produce some childish content somewhere, and its bound to be misused (see Battlebus comment above).

The solid fact remains, women are present in the army, and have been for a while. This is not a debate on whether they should be there in the first place is it? i'll leave that debate to the generals and politicians.
