Item descriptions sometimes do not fit on the screen

Are you running some kind of custom resolution? And if not, what is the resolution you are using?

3440x1440. Not really a "custom" resolution, I can choose it in the settings menu of the game. It's a 21:9 aspect ratio. There are many newer monitors with such an aspect ratio.

2560x1080 is also 21:9 (see other comment).

Same issue right here with 21:9 ratio screen with resolution of 2560x1080. This issue has been around from the start of standalone.

I don't know how it's works, but if you subtract from the x number 320 before

m_TooltipWidget.SetPos(x, y);

issue fixed for 2560*1080 (21*9):

x = x -320;

@Geez Could you provide us with an update regarding the eta for the fix?

2 updates now have left this unfixed, maybe I'm naive but it seems like a quick fix.

Yes, I don't see why it's not being fixed. I see this in the 1.12 patch notes:
"Long item names were cut off in the left bottom corner of HUD" so clearly someone was looking at a similar issue. Could've just fixed this one at the same time.

Maybe it's because the bug report they chose to combine everything into only says "sometimes" when it is, in fact, ALWAYS an issue on 21:9 aspect ratio monitors, making them think this isn't a series issue.

Also, looking at other peoples reports and @Geez's replies, it's unclear to me whether or not the devs actually realise this isn't an issue with custom resolutions. It's an issue with 21:9 standard resolutions, something DayZ claims to support natively.

All of the fantastic progress this game is making marred for any user who uses an Ultra Wide display is galling. I cannot enjoy the game as the issue makes some UI elements completely unreadable.

We are aware that this is an issue for the 21:9 aspect ratio monitors and occurs always with these. However, there currently is no information that I could share on when this issue will be fixed. It is scheduled for a fix though.

How many percents of DayZ players have 21:9 monitors?

And we have alternative for fix this error, just press middle button to activate Inspect function

@PR9INICHEK If your game states that it supports it then ... yea it should support that functionality regardless of how many people use it. Simple as that.

I agree, prioritizing is important and we all know that this game has other problems to deal with. Then again fixing this is a simple task, especially for someone familiar with the DayZ dev tools. The snippet you posted in an earlier comment is probably half the fix but instead of using a magic number like 320 you could use a percentage of the window width.

Anyway, I will be grateful once it's fixed.

If this is fixed, Squad developers, for example, have reworked almost the entire game during this time, and these pistols will be added and a patch will be released with bugs.

You can't even believe that they will fix it in the near future.

Ultrawide monitors aren't exactly new tech. An ​ETA on a fix would be appreciated.

@Geez Do you know the overall sentiment towards this issues? I mean it's not like we're asking here for revolutionary changes that take months to plan and implement. This is basically to align the functionality to what you claim to support.

@Geez I see new patch is coming. Is there a chance this issue can be looked at and finally fixed?
