I agree with you that exploits like this ruin the integrity of DayZ, ill attach youtube videos which are PUBLIC that display these exploits

This is happening to me too OP, it’s a bug that you can work through. When you are prompted to build the shelter and it doesn’t work, reposition your character and try again. I’ve had to do it up to 5x to get it to actually construct

Since this in regards to a dropped fence kit I would like to add.
