Night visibility depends mainly on the moon and cloud cover, if you want it to be easier to see at night set the night to one with a full moon and remove cloud cover.

It depends entirely on their awarness setting, if set to danger then they won't turn them back on. All you have to do is give them the proper orders if you don't want lights on.

Watch the video again, if you think that those are roads then you're high.

I live in Canada, we have some proper damn mountains, offroad in the mountains is just as easy as offroad on flat ground, the only difference is the slope and elevation. It doesn't suddenly get super hard to drive when you enter an area that's considered "Mountains".

You seem to think that every vehicle should have the off-road abilities of a Toyota Prius. If the military forces of the near future based all of their military vehicles on the Prius platform then maybe you would have a point.

But since the military of the near future, present, and past, use properly equiped vehicles, terrain like you see on Stratis, Chernerus, and Altis, is easily negotiable to the 60 ton behemoths.

You are clearly mistaken, an APC with 1500hp can hardly climb a hill. The off-road capabilities of vehicles needs to be increased, not nerfed.

The capabilities on flat ground are also just fine, the vehicles are all designs that you would expect to have highly durable off-road suspension. You would expect the 6 and 8 wheeled APCs to be able to manage just fine at relatively high speed over rough terrain. And the quad and offroad shouldn't be that far off.

Then I'm pretty sure that you've never been at a range at all. Sometimes you do in fact have to wait for the reticule to come around onto the target, it is actually rather difficult to fight the movement of the weapon that is caused by breathing, heartbeat, and your hands not being rock solid.

Even when braced, prone, and holding your breath, unless you've got your gun in a vice you will have to take your time while the reticule comes around.

What you seem to want is COD quickscoping, not going to happen.

Lie down and hold your breath, the reticule will move much less. The current system is preferable to a reticule that doesn't move at all when scoped in. It's not a fake thing to add difficulty, it's a real thing. Go to a range, rent a gun, and try to keep your gun as steady as you seem to think it would be.

The only reason you don't notice sway in iron sights is that you can't see well enough to notice the sway, it's still there, but you don't realize it until you're using magnification.

You can see your damn heartbeat in the scope if you're using high enough magnification (10x-12x) in real life.

This is how the chopper is in real life, you're asking for some sort of optical gun-sight, which the real chopper lacks.

Same for the guns, firing the miniguns from 1000m at a target that you can hardly see from a moving helicopter is not going to be the most accurate thing in the world. Besides, the bullets have no special explosive effect, if all your shots go 1 inch to the left of him it's still going to have a minimal effect because they didn't actually hit him.

As Lighthammer said, the tracer mags in game would be straight-tracer mags in real life, and the non-tracer mags would be tracer mags in real life (with tracers every 5 and in the last 4-5).

Really it boils down to naming conventions in game compared to real life.

The reason that female chars in A2 couldn't pickup weapons was a lack of animations for weapon holding/firing/etc for the female skeleton. It wasn't a conscious decision to disallow them from using weapons, it was just to stop the game from crashing when it tried to reference animations that weren't there.

But on this topic, it might be nice to have the option of female soldiers, but I doubt that it's a priority, and really it shouldn't be one. Time spent modeling, animating, making textures, etc for female soldiers is time not spent doing all the same for new guns, tanks, jets, etc.

If it's not as big a deal to do as I think then sure it would be nice to have, but if it takes away too much from the rest of the game then it can wait.

That's why I said it would be nice to have, but not a priority. Despite ARMA's increased fame due to DayZ and the current alpha, it's not popular enough to be picked on by press before COD, Battlefield, etc. I do hope that it gets added into the game, but not if it means we lose something else.

You don't need to resort to baseless insults and strawmen arguments. Female characters serve only ascetic purposes, a larger variety of "gunz and tankz derr" serve actual mechanical purposes.

Trolls, right, yes, you can say whatever you want but expect people to challenge you on it.

The only way to keep a gun rock steady is to put it in a vice, even laying down and holding your breath will leave a bit of movement, if all you're doing is kneeling and holding your breath then you can definitely expect movement since you're trying to hold several pounds of steel away from your body.

The reason people are saying you've never fired a gun is that if you had actually experienced what it's like to fire from a scoped rifle while standing, kneeling, sitting, prone, etc, then you would know that it is not nearly as stable as you seem to think.

Maybe you've fired guns before, but never from high enough magnification to notice the sway that is nearly always there. Just because someone challenges your claims and disagrees with you doesn't make them a troll, Mr. Melodrama.
