update: I logged back in and tried adding a new survivor. However I ended up with the same.

Same issue in Arma 3 x64 so hopefully someone in BIS will wake up and implement the changes needed as it seem Track IR it self should have the correct API's for 64 bit support as well.

Same issue with me, working fine in the 32bit version, but not in x64.

Might be physics / particle related?
We had the issue on Sunday while playing a modded mission.
As the crew of a Bradley we fired a tow missile at a BMP. Everyone who looked at the impact of that missile got the null pointer exception.
Haven't had the time to do any more tests but are planning to.
I've seen a similar issue that's possible related.
If you open the editor and place a AMV-7 near the Kamino firing range on Stratis.
Then drive it into the water just NE of the base (065055) there are some grass in the water showing some shallows.
Trying to drive over them might get you stuck.
It seem it's trying to use the propeller despite the wheels being on the ground and the hull partly out of the water.
I guess the same might happen when you try to beach it.
I don't understand what you mean by the different braking options.
But running a tank full steam down a hill and locking the tracks will result in a sliding stop.
To me it doesn't seem to unrealistic when you compare it to stuff like this.
Using Track IR + Saitek X52 PRO without having any crashes.
Win 8 x64 + latest drivers.
The same issue has been reported earlier and there seems to be a workaround.
