alpha-kilo added a comment to T71561: Uniform flag patches.

Yes, please consider to put the flags on either the right, the left or both shoulders at the player's option and please do it on all garments: T-shirts, overshirts, jackets, pilots' and tankers' coveralls, wet suits, etc.

It would also be good to show the squadXML on the uniforms as in the previous ArmA game.

Upvoted but there shouldn't be unlogical exceptions for FAKs etc. Any object in a rucksack should be treated as Additional Storage.

I agree. In previous ArmA games the squadXML appeared on the sleeves of the uniforms, it would be good to have this back.

And the velcro patches on helmets and vests could be used for something like a "personal XML" where players could put some individual markings such as initials or other symbols.

I think you don't have to be an engineer to use wire cutters, so an inventory item which can be used by anybody would be great.

alpha-kilo added a comment to T61395: Weather conditions not the same for everyone.

I confirm this issue. I hosted a mission and played with two other guys. All of us had different weather conditions.

To illustrate the relevance I'll summarize how we experienced this:

Another human player and I watched a group of AI opponents in a distance of roughly 350 m. My weather was cloudy and rainy but at first I could clearly recognize the AI. As we were working out who should attack which target, suddenly fog appeared and concealed the opponents on my machine. I mentioned it to my friend who told me that he had a clear and sunny day. We had to wait with our attack until the fog had cleared.

alpha-kilo added a comment to T59695: Objective marker hard to see.

Changing colours in the options menu works with some markers (for example the crosshairs) but others, such as a waypoint created in the map by the player with [Shift] + [LMB] always appear in hardly visible white.

alpha-kilo added a comment to T59280: [Feature request] Allow users to change UI colors (accessibility for the color blind).

Moricky,

I tested again.

Test conditions:

Game started, closed, and started again.
Showcase: Vehicles
All addons disabled
Colour settings:
Background: red 0%, green 0%, blue 0%, alpha 50%
Active Elements: red 100%, green 100%, blue 0%, alpha 100%
Warnings: red 100%, green 50%, blue 0%, alpha 100%
Errors: red 100%, green 0%, blue 0%, alpha 100%

Observations:

The "steal"-marker appears in yellow as expected. I added a new waypoint marker by clicking [L-SHIFT]+[LMB] in the map. This new marker appeared in white. Both markers are transparent and barely visible in the centre section of the screen. When I change direction so that the markers are at the edge of the screen they are clearly visible. I guess that the alpha value of 100 applies for the edge of the screen and in the centre it may be around 40.

I changed the alpha settings in the colour menue in order to get a better idea but this did not have any influence on the markers ingame. The alpha settings only seem to work in the little screen in the options menu, but not in the game.

The font makes it difficult to tell certain numbers apart. This has been reported elsewhere but I am repeating it here because it is even worse when the numbers are transparent.

Expectations:

I would prefer to have both markers in the chosen colour (in my case yellow). The markers should not be transparent in the centre of the screen. If it was a design decision to have it this way, please give the player control of the alpha level in all areas of the screen. I like the fact the carets for the official marker and the personal marker are different. So they cannot be confused even if they are in the same colour.

I hope this information is useful for you..

Raptor,

unfortunately the colour settings menu does not adjust waypoint matkers and caret. It does adjust the ever so important crosshairs, though.

I am not colour blind but I am voting this up.

alpha-kilo added a comment to T58699: Can't Alt + Tab out of game.

I have the same problem. It started today after I updated to 0.56 stable. Of course I don't know if the update has anything to do with it or if it's just a coincidence. My OS is Win7 64 bit, too.

Anyway, have the devs found any solutions since mid-April or is the matter still being investigated?

In case someone is looking into this matter here is a little update:

I have deleted ArmA3 from the Steam library and downloaded the game again. No change, Alt-Tab still doesn't work. Steam verification confirmed that the game files are OK.

Then I changed from stable 0.56 to developer build 0.55 and Alt-Tab works again provided that another window is open on the desktop. It is not possible to Alt-tab to an empty destop. This would be nice if you want to open an application after having started to play Arma3.
