If its only just gone into daytime on the map, it will only be dawn on Mars meaning it will be dark. If you want it to be bright daytime, the landing location needs to be towards the middle of the day section on the map.

This does happen to me sometimes as well. Seems to do it more if I mouse click instead of actually doing what it says and pressing a keyboard button.

Bigdave151985 added a comment to T116226: APXS not detecting target?.

You have to be very close and completely still for it to work. I have found a few times that if Im on a slope or have a faulty wheel, the movement caused stops the APXS from working. Its not really a bug, its just that the equipment you are using requires you to be so close and very still.

Bigdave151985 added a comment to T116223: 64bit.

Windows can give up to 4Gb of RAM to the game on a 32bit system. This is plenty. Ramping up the amount of RAM a game can use is only part of the story in improve game performance. Processor and graphics cards also have a huge amount to play.

This game runs as smooth as silk on my system, so the limit to the amount of RAM this game can use is clearly not a problem.

Maybe you can post your system details on here and people can look into the problem if you have one?

I was driving around on fairly flat terrain for a long time and they fell off. I launched another medium rover and the same happened. It was in the Kaiser crater and was driving really carefully.

Haven't had chance to test it with the new system yet, but glad to hear that some improvements have been made :)

It normally occurs directly after landing and progressively gets worse. I'd therefore assume its something to do with the landing impact?

However, out of the 12 or so rovers I have placed onto Mars, about 9 have had this wheel error. Surely that is a bit high?

Bigdave151985 added a comment to T116197: Wheel error happen far too often.

Yeah has said in my first post, the wheel error happens almost instantly as soon as you land, so it could be something to do with the landing capsule that is causing the rover to get damaged wheels.

Bigdave151985 added a comment to T116138: Camera on the rover points in back.

People have suggested a slightly better HUD with like a compass style display to improve navigation. However, the small rover is meant to be what it is and I dont find it too much of a problem to drive. Go up to a rock using the camera. Line it up so you know you're going to be on target and then back it up so the scanner touches the rock.

I do believe that this is based on a real rover that had the equipment on the front and a camera on the back. I might be completely wrong here, but sure I ahve heard it mentioned. Its not really that hard to drive backwards.
