If its only just gone into daytime on the map, it will only be dawn on Mars meaning it will be dark. If you want it to be bright daytime, the landing location needs to be towards the middle of the day section on the map.

It seems that you have landed during dawn. Like Bigdave said, this does not seem to be an actual bug.
