you say the armor needs to improve because it's the future and it would be better but the rounds would probably be better too. That would even out the playing field quite a bit. One thing that drove me crazy about Arma 2 was that I could shoot a tire with a Barret rifle (anti-material) and the tire would be just fine. Probably something to be worked on in this one too. As far as armor having a hit system that caused you to fall down, get knocked out, get dizzy I think that would be great. On the other hand I don't want to play call of duty here. When people start taking 14 rounds I'm done playing. Yes there should be parts of you that can take more rounds depending on the armor you wear but it should also increase your wight a lot to dress like a tank. You should also lose carry capacity. I don't wanna see a guy running around in the thickest armor available carrying an anti-material rifle with 12 mags and the heaviest rocket launcher with 5 rounds then watch him run ten miles no problem. I do believe the head gear even today cannot take a straight on shot from a rifle, if I'm correct its designed to deflect not stop. This would mean the game would have to account for angles and decrease damage based on the angle hit. This would complicate things greatly. I do think there needs to be an armor system but there also needs to be a penetration system. Distance + caliber + round type + angle = % penetration up to 100% depending on that sum. If some one hits you with an anti-material rifle from 400 meters strait on with armor piercing rounds I think we can all agree it's going through you. Compared to if some one shot your helmet at a large angle, in close range, with a hallow tip round, it's gonna shatter if not deflect. If you are running when this happens you'll probably stumble.

you can change back to the Xbox controller lay out for Arma 2 if you go under keyboard controls and click on presets. It helps but it's not perfect.

if you want to manually bind keys you have to disable the xbox controller bind the keys then enable it.

I understand that the barrel is below the sight and I take this into account but I can be pretty well clear of the rock and still hit it

I believe to map it you have to disable the controller then you can use the controller to manually input keys. you can also go under keyboard and presets to select arma 2 preset but it's flawed too. Just not as bad.

I had a similar problem where I sat in a door way and killed over ten AI with out them reacting. Seems to be a problem with buildings entirely. I really think if you are firing a gun in a building the AI should hear that and check out the building, maybe even go look inside. It would be cool to be able to rig doors with claymores then fire a shot and when they head in to check it out BOOM!

If you are talking about the predefined scheme for the Arma 2 controls I did that already and it seemed not to help. I'll give it a try again though.

I can't believe thats how you thought the north hollywood shoot out went... any way pistols are lethal with one shot for those of you who say there not. All they have to do is get a bullet through a main artery and you're a gonner, get shot in the head dead, grt shot in the spine paralized. There are many places you can be shot that would put you out of combat for example if you have not gotten your apendex removed and get shot there your body fills with poison. That would put you out of combat. There are a lot of places that you could survive no problem but when I can give a guy a shot to the face and put a few more in his back then he out runs me for over 2 clicks I think we have a problem here unless I just happen to shoot a guy on PCP. We are talking about the average solder and the average solder with a shot to the head and a few to the back is dead. So the pistol damage needs to go up so that four shots any where is a dead guy unless its hitting vody armor. I dont care who you are you get shot four times in the leg chances are you are spewing blood from and artery and in about one minute your passed out and two your dead unless you recieve instant medical care.

I shot a guy point blank with about seven rounds and he ran off. Who is this guy 50 Cent?!? I will say they were chest shots so maybe the body armor was catching the rounds? I would think I would get through after seven though
