Game Version: 1.4.0.38
NOT modded.
When you use the scroll wheel to adjust your stance in small increments, it no longer works.
PC:
Stance: Stand there, press and hold CTRL, use scroll wheel up and down. It sends you from standing to prone without any adjustability.
Movement: Press and hold "W" to move forward. Use the scroll wheel to adjust your movement speed, you will not be able to.
+1 though I disagree with severity should be higher, the gradual adjustment of stance is one of the selling points of Reforger infantry gameplay compared to many competitors.
+1 very annoying, really off putting - I was thinking the problem is on my end or it is some setting maybe... turns out you guys have the same thing??
Does anyone know how to fix this, reinstalling the game and uninstalling all the mods didn't help?
the scroll wheel now acts like an 'on/off' switch there isnt any incremental in between, for walk speed and crouch height
+1, me too. Also I have checked alternative input (set increasing and decreasing to "Insert" and "Delete" keys), but It still works like position full changing
i ran into about 3 other PC people in my last session complaining about it. most of the console players arent aware of the incremental movement/stance stages. im not sure the cause of issue... but there's definitely people experiencing it. is this official bohemia btw?
i changed game drives, deleted all config files, uninstalled all mods, verified files and tested on a local blank server, default everything. the bug still persists.
[1.4.0.38] I'm getting this, too. It seems like the amount each scroll wheel "bump" adds or subtracts from move speed/stance height has been multiplied by infinity (or at least something high enough to make it effectively infinity).
Rebinding speed/incremental stance up/down to something else results in the same behaviour (tested with number keys 8/5).
Incremental lean (with Ctrl+Q/E by default) still works normally.
EDIT: With a controller on PC, adjusting stance by holding A and nudging the left analogue stick up/down results in switching stances wholesale, rather than incremental changes. Unsure whether this is intended behaviour, as I don't usually use a controller while on-foot.
@OogaBooga I agree, OP, this is not a "minor severity" issue. I personally won't be playing the game until this is fixed. I suggest raising the severity of the issue.
Just adding my notes to getting this bug resolved and increasing priority, it's broken a fundamental part of reforger's Infantry movement, engagement and ability to react and adapt to situations. Can no longer adjust quickly to peek through a small opening for monitoring/sniping, can no longer appropriately sneak into positions (moving faster and slowing gradually during the up tick in gun fire for example).
It is present in the Known Issues list:
- Changing some settings with the mouse or controller will instantly jump between maximum and minimum values
- Changing character speed
- Changing stance
- Changing leaning to left or right - on the controller only
Fixed in an incoming patch
The fact that this info is in the Known issues list is just an excuse. And a bad one at that. The known issues list wasn't even updated until a few hours after the update (at least the date of last update mention in the Known issues main page), which means this was an unintended result, aka, a screwup. If this was an intentional change (or even an issue that had been noticed before the update in internal tests) this information would have been in the changelog, not in the known issues. Please stop gaslighting your loyal players.
And considering the amount of issues you have neglected to include in the known issues, it is no wonder that most people didn't ever notice it. Just one example of an issue that really should be in the known issues is the broken mechanic of the mounted machine gun zeroing, where the rear sight moves but does not align with the front sight. Geez mentioned in one of the tickets for that issue that it will not be fixed for Reforger, but no developer thought to add (admit) the fact in the known issues list.
And just for information, since last Thursday when this update dropped, according to SteamDB, Arma Reforger has had an average of 10 - 15 % drop in consecutive players compared to previous 3 weeks. And considering Steam in general hasn't had that drop, the reason for the drop is Reforger related, not universal, like player amounts dropping because it's summer and less people play games in general.
gaslighting
yeah right, that's what we do!
so we are both editing the issues list and not admitting to having issues by not adding them to the Known Issues list. I guess we just can't win :-)
or, hear me out, the page was updated a couple of hours later because of not being synchronised with the data release… but that may just be an excuse again!
Patch incoming, relax - have a good one

Yeah, sorry, I got a little hot under the collar.
But I just got irritated, since after i started downloading the update, I did
And after noticing the problem and checking if the problem was on my end, make a report.
Then after coming back later, finding out that the official comment was "It is a known issue"
Sorry for the generated frustration, I was also surprised to deliver with this being broken. You did all the good steps and are not to blame, we were slower in updating Known Issues - that line WILL disappear soon™ from the page though!
Suggestion: Put the main ticket link on the known issue line. It allows users to track an issues progress and hopefully help contribute (not just moan)
For you it means you can track the "frustration severity" by seeing how many watch the issue. Apart from just skimming Reddit (especially patch posts)
Glad to see this issue is making it's way through the system quickly keep it up!
Will also test this out today, big thank you to the team for the speed in resolution!
