To the developers.
I am really disillusioned with how you set priorities. You seem really keen on developing new characters and weapons but the alpha is still totally unplayable due to the fact that one's character keeps dying from lack of food and over-exposure about 15 minutes after starting.
This is just stupid!! If you want players to help you improve the game you need to let them live long enough.
Put out another version where food and cold are NOT A FACTOR and let us survive long enough to test the graphics and combat systems.
Bring food and cold back in about 6 months when everything else is fixed.
And, I still go into buildings and the bloody walls disappear.
I think, unless you start letting us live longer, we will all end up moving to H1Z1 - from what I've seen the cold is not as lethal as DAYZ.

You blokes are probably all too young to remember Bobby Sands, yes?? He was an IRA soldier back in 1981 who went on a hunger strike. He drank water but ate nothing. It took him about SIXTY DAYS to die! 60. Days.

Mind you, he was very weak by about day 30 but it just goes to show that DAYZ has got this massively wrong.

This needs to be FIXED!!!!

Hi Andy.
I have downloaded vers 49.124972 and can now get back in the game. However, any time I go into a building either all or most of the walls seem to disappear. This was happening on a previous build too so is this a widespread problem?
see http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198076315915/screenshots/
for the screen shot.

Andy
Mate, what you have to do is get into the coding and either DISABLE hypothermia AND hunger, or REDUCE THE EFFECTS BY A FACTOR OF 95%.

Rapid death by hypothermia and hunger are simply FAR TOO UNREALISTIC and it is ruining our game experience to the point that I do not want to even bother TRYING to play.
If you want us to test weapons and stuff like that, TURN OFF the hypothermia and hunger so we can survive long enough to test everything else. Once all of that is fixed, bring back hypothermia and hunger in about 6 months time.

I see all these posts about developing new weapons, it is a waste of time when people cannot survive more than 15 minutes before dying of cold.
PLEASE get your priorities right.

I walked through a puddle, just a puddle, and was told I was soaked and cooling down.
This hypothermia business HAS to be toned down by a HUGE factor.

If it is raining AND there is a strong wind AND no sun AND you are outside, then wind chill may be a big factor in cooling down, but if someone is indoors and has at least some dry clothing on then hypothermia should not be happening at all.

Oh yes!! Walking through apuddle should not soak you, or (as I read in someone else's comments) filling a waterbottle. Getting SOAKED should be reserved for wading rivers or getting caught in cloudbursts.

A bit more real-life-world needed.

Hi to the Dev Team,
look, all this discussion of graphics problems is all very nice and I really hope it gets fixed but I get the impression that very few players are actually getting anywhere because their characters are dying of cold and lack of food within a half hour of re-spawning. That is, if the uber-zombies don't kill them first. Have you not seen ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE and all the other movies? Humans should at least be able to out-run a half-rotten and shambling zombie. :)
Instead, we get super-zombies who take massive damage and seem to be able to punch down doors with iron fists.
By all means fix the graphics but the NEXT priority should be fixing the broken "hypothermia" and "starvation" rules, not spending time on developing new weapons no-one is going to survive long enough to use. DOOM got it right - the basic game could be played and won with one pistol, one rifle, one shotgun, and one chainsaw (just for fun).

I have just been playing again (GMT 10+ time zone), 10-00am, 17 Oct, and the game speed is vastly improved and I have had no graphics problems like disappearing walls, so something has been fixed!!!!!!

There still remains the problem of getting cold, hungry FAR TOO SOON, though. This is a game breaker, needs to be toned WAY BACK.
Thanks
Kim

I had a brief GOOD experience with v48 but only had it a day before 49 came out and my play went down the toilet. VERY SLOW, the walls keep disappearing when I'm inside a structure - all the things everyone else is complaining about.
I know this is ALPHA but it is seriously broken compared to v48.
I won't be playing again until maybe another 2-3 versions come out, it may be fixed by then.
