It hasn't been fixed since over a year now. This gamebreaking bug exists ever since the 64bit version was released.
So, my hopes for the devs actually doing something are quite low. They already have every bit of important information about the setups, as in, Logitech Headset with Surround Soundcard and FX Processor. Yet they do nothing.

32 bit client has inferior performance as well as the 3FPS problem, which glitches the game out completely limits the framerate to 3FPS

Upgrading your PC should be last resort. It is the dev's task to fix this shit.
Throwing money at it is not worth it.

Problem still exists, when will we see a fix?
Issue still exists

So when is it going to be fixed?

Well... Nobody will upgrade his CPU(which would also require to buy a new Mainboard as well as new RAM) for just a game.
There are thousands of other games and well... This is taking far too long.

I have yet to see a pilot to fly with his map open

I'm getting impatient. How much longer do we have to wait for a fix?
How much longer until it gets finally resolved?
Got hit with the 4 FPS bug just recently on the 32bit version. Bohemia fix your god damn game.

I do not think so, my system is pretty well cooled and max temps I get are about 50°C.

In other words, it's not possible to choose 16Bit and 48000Hz as previously suggested as a workaround.
My workaround is to use a spare Razer Kraken 7.1 USB headset. Doesn't happen with that at all, but that doesn't use Dolby virtual surround like the Logitech G35
I've been troubleshooting this problem for a month now and so far it seems to be different depending on each individuals computer power. A lot of 'fixes' pointed towards processing being the issue. One such case - upgraded CPU and RAM - suddenly problem disappeared. Another case - Switch to SSD - problem disappeared too.
Since virtual surround sound requires some processing, reducing said processing requirement would likely help prevent 'laggy audio'.
This is when I realized how the sample rate could help me - I cranked my playback bitrate in speaker properties from 16bit, 48000Hz to 16bit, 44100Hz. Poof the problem was gone. flew a heli, didn't lag (crashed but that was my fault :P )
And that's how I fixed my arma :P
P.S: I am using a G930 wireless headset with 7.1 USB surround sound
TL;DR : keep reducing your headphone sample rate until the issue disappears. worked for me

When is Bohemia going to fix this finally? This game is a trainwreck right now, this bug makes it unplayable right now.

Well I have a view distance of 5,5km all the time.
And maybe you are right. But then how does the radar in jets work?
The view distance has nothing to do with the radar distance.
