Not a huge deal or anything but I find something little like that to be a pretty huge deal as far as little visual touches and such go. Definitely not high priority, but I would enjoy it.

upvoted, devil is in the details

agree, it feels conspicuously absent.

Indeed minor, but a MUST HAVE for the final release ;)

"Little details folks." was not needed. Its an alpha folks, so just say what the issue is without arrogance attached to it.

Well he does have a point, i don't find it arrogant. What's the point of modeling a holster on a character if it is not functional.

Agreed. It was possible in ARMA 2 and ARMA 1 with mods, it should be in ARMA 3 from the start

This is very true.

As someone said before me, minor, but must have for final release.

This issue was processed by our team and will be looked into. We thank you for your feedback.

I think it will be great if you can see your pistol in your holster or other things you carry with at your character,it will be much more realistic ;) !

UPVOTE ! +

Realism is not really the issue imho. The whole gameplay experience depends on some degree of suspending ones disbelief, and details matters, so a properly holstered pistol goes offer a more compelling gaming experience that is based on fantasy regardless.

It actually affects realism in a way that when you look at the enemy you should be able to see what weapons he has

+1

This has always annoyed me.

Even if the game is "fantasy", it is a simulator. The entire point of a simulator is to SIMULATE. If I am walking around in some sandbox survival server, it can make a big deal if my alliance with a guy is fragile and I want to kill him when he runs out of ammo. What if he has a pistol still?

I agree, it would be great

I would even be happy if it was in the holster and don't come out when I use the pistol. As long as its there. Empty holster look less intimidating and cool - and less realistic of course.

I disagree with Alex72. Always full is no better than always empty.

Oh come on, we should not argue what is better, they should just make it properly...we have enough votes and still no response from dev, anyway...is it really so hard to do this ?

Please Bohemia Interactive, please do this !

It has been a long while. It is kinda silly to have this visual fail in final release. I hope it will be addressed soon.

??????????

It's the small details that make big effect, upvoted.

Probably will never get implemented.

Upvoted! Why have modelled holsters at all if no pistol appears inside it? I noticed DayZ SA does it very well. If they do add it, I'd like to see different holstered positions (shoulder, hip, thigh etc).

Koala added a subscriber: Koala.May 7 2016, 10:35 AM

Any news on this?

The developers seem to be looking into this so I'd like to bring a couple of points to their attention.

PLEASE add appropriate config properties to allow community developers to specify whether they'd like to show the pistol or not and, if they would like to, the location of it on the character model!

Pistol holstering is available in the dev-branch.

Introduced in Stable 1.48.

After Patch 1.48 sidearms still do not appear in wetsuit holster.

This is still an issue in version 1.72. Pistol holstering is available for almost all uniforms with holsters except the wetsuits.
