Description

After the update 1.60, I noticed a strange error - the my character automatically gets up from the prone position.
This sometimes happens, when I crawl in the prone and simultaneously start turning my character by means the mouse in the any side. After this, sometimes the player's character stands up to his full height and kills any stealth mission! I don't use any mods that modify of movement animations.

A similar problem has long existed in Arma3. Without any mods.
The player's character rises to his full height (!even under enemy fire) from the prone position, if the player is near a low stone fences or stones. And now is an additional problem. The player character never needs to stand on its feet if it does not want the player. This is Very unpleasant surprise for any player, BIS please fix this issue as soon as possible.

  1. Go in prone and To creep forward (W-button or W+Shift).
  2. Release the movement button and fast turn the player character to the right or left side.
  3. Repeat this combination several times.

The issue here seems not to be random or linked with any obstacles. After few times I was able to find out this happens only if you turn to side and while turning you stop moving.
The only obstacle where you will automatically stand up is the low rock fence and stairs. These can be run over without having to vault them using V, unfortunately moving across these obstacles is problematic in prone. Allowing them to be passed in prone animation would result only in very silly-looking movement (crawling in steep slopes into the air and so on).

The issue with the forced crouch was submitted for fix, so thanks for that :)

I understand that prone animation in this case would look not best. But we always have a solution! It would be better if the player will just stop if on his way located is small obstacle (if only in the prone position).
Thus, to overcome the obstacle, the player will always face the choice - to stand up or get around this obstacle by crawling.
This feature will save the player from accidental deaths and irritation from the gameplay. The fact is that, sometimes the player does not notice the small obstacle next to him. In such cases, there should not be any unpleasant surprises!

Agree with mickeyman - these are 2 separate problems. Problem i described in my ticked (https://feedback.bistudio.com/T119465) is not caused by obstacles, but by movement, pressing AWSD and moving mouse.

Yes the bug where you stand up when moving in prone was issue for the fix.

How to rise on an equal surface:
-clamp the key "W" to creep
-release the key "W" and at the same time to turn in any party, on 90-180º
-To present as it looks in fight.

I saw somewhere very detailed report on forums when the feedback tracker was down. there was writed all combinations of movement making character stand from phrone. It was ingored of course. I think it was on General Discussion (dev branch) thread.

Indeed it was, I actually used that post to report the issues internally when it turned up. I would normally mark these (FT) tickets as duplicates but since they were reported on Forums, I am leaving them in an open state till the fixes are introduced in an update and confirmed as fixed by players (in this case you).

In the patch 1.64 this bug Ignored, still not fixed!

I do meet this once in gameplay, but cannot reproduce it.

This is an annoying GameBreaking BUG ( became worse since 1.64 update ) and needs to be fixed ASAP, i can't even count how many times i got killed since 1.64 only 'cuz of my character standing up from prone AUTOMATICALLY! i'll post a video later on

Succesfully reproduce without trying. Developers, please try and do the same.

Agree!

  1. Go to prone and try creep forward (W-button or W+Shift).
  2. Release the movement buttons and fast turn the player character to the right or left side by means mouse. If you did not work the first time, then repeat this combination several times in the both sides.

This bug still exists and is fully reproducible as of build 1.64.138732.

Please note that to reproduce it, you have to:

  1. Crawl forward (go prone and press W),
  2. turn left or right (using the mouse) while crawling forward,
  3. release W while still continuing to turn, and
  4. be in the Run Mode.

In other words, to reproduce the bug you have to stop forward movement while you keep turning on the ground, and you also need to be in the Run Mode instead of the Walk Mode (toggle W+S)

The bug where you stand up because of some obstacle on the ground is a completely separate issue. This one you can reproduce in flat terrain without any obstacles - e.g. an airstrip.

Broi is right, developers, please try it with this repro steps, i'm sure you gonna reproduce it.

Should be fixed in dev branch already.
