I can confirm what baskiney is writing. With the exception that it does not have to be linked to individual units.

But it does need to be synced to a headquarters entity and be activated with a trigger.

This module is working and this thread can be closed.

I say make it a module option. So that public servers with respawnable choppers can choose not to utilize this feature and dont end up having people doing what "Johncage" above me here describes.

In most missions i play in, helicopters and vehicles are very valuable items that would not be wasted with suicide bombings, not to mention the players are more often than not more valuable alive. :P

But yea, Module option, this can add a nice touch to sabotage missions.

Just checked and correct me if im wrong, but did you remove the entire entity? Even if that is the case, it looks good and i checked ALL the surrounding cliffs and they are solid.

Please close this, "Careless" behaviour serves a valuable purpose in the editor, and it is now clear that the creator of this ticket has confused "careless", and "safe" behaviour.

I belive it's a work in progress, and that they possibly used that solution so people could atleast use mounted weapons effectively for now.

Current devbranch have some new optics for the main tanks that looks nice, but the same old booring compass is there aswell unfortunately.

Atleast it works. :)

Driver and passenger positions are not applicable here, they can use a compass. When you are in a gunner position and are in the fullscreen mode of a mounted gun you are unable to use a compass.

Which is why those screens need a direction indicator, preferably in degrees. they only have that for the gunner positions in the tracked APC's and Helicopters. And even in them it's the awful "radar" that the aircrafts use.

Updated with info to encompass the Wheeled APC's

Also want to note that whilst the Tracked APC's does have a compass similar to the aircraft radar, it looks really bad and i hope you will consider a better system.

I disagree with Maddog on this, but either way, i checked and can confirm that you can not use the compass at all whilst in a boat. (you can do it just fine in the vehicles, but the availability of the compass is not what this thread is about).

It is about getting a direction indicator on the fullscreen mounted weapon screen.

Extend this to the speedboats aswell, they do also not have a direction indicator.

Upvoting, with all due respect to Kid18120, There is the important aspect of reducing weapon sway and recoil while a weapon is deployed/resting, which i belive will be very benefitial to the gameplay.
