Same issue but if you kill an animal it counts as civilian kill.

A shot to the head or Kill shot will make the body collapse. The body is more likely to fall forward when the body loses control, most gun deaths.
But with body armor and plate carriers and large calibers smacking the vests the body is more likely to be forced the direction off the bullet. It needs tweaking and they seem delayed.

Okay I am a Marine and I can fire a weapon M4, M249 and M240G with more accuracy and control then in the game currently. Pulling the mouse down after a few rounds does not portray real life military marksmanship, the weapon should jerk but then immediately return to the body's natural point of aim. So it would be more realistic for a futuristic military to have much better weapon control then is currently in the game.

I've fired alot of weapons in the Marine Corps, recoil isn't that hard to handle but I've never fired a 6.8mm I'm sure they got that one right though.
