Me and my gaming group have noticed this as well, though we find that it is within 600M-ish that they become deadly accurate snipers. Machine Gunners can take you down in a single burst rather than suppressing you. We have to park on far hills with armored vehicles and rain fire on them to counter it.
At the moment the Copilot seat is just another seat to carry someone else in.
Similar non-functionality for all new vehicles
Noticed nothing wrong with picture
Bez is forgetting that they have to map the sea floor as well now that you have divers. They also have to build in the physx for each ship, get the handleing down, do a complete model for the ship that includes elevators for moving aircraft. The average Arma player probably couldn't land on a moving aircraft carrier anyways, much less taxi to the elevator.
A carrier has a crew of over 6,000 members, how do you plan on crewing it by yourself? The team at BI would have to develop AI for every crew member.
This is an unnecessary waste of time when static ship models are available.
I agree, While playing a player mission I had to land the chopper on a hill overlooking the killzone and while I should have been able to simply jump in the gunner seat and lay waste to the AI, I had to keep jumping out an using my eyes to find targets rather than the thermals due to the lens filth.
The Comanche is amazing and handles perfectly as it should, please clean the thermals so that the Opfor's can handle as well and won't be overlooked.
On second play through I grabbed an armored Ifrit instead because I knew it had clean lens.
