How realistic is it that it's always night? That whenever you play it's night?
If realistic, you'd get some daylight time, then some nightlight time, and it would switch around. For us who work daytime, it's extremely unpractical with it constantly being night, because then when are you supposed to go scrounging, when you can't see a thing. If realistic, you could still move around in the darkness, and use hands to feel the stuff around you. Also, in real life our eyesight adjust after a while, and we eventually see stuff we didn't see before. So, realism will regardless not be complete. And the gamma levels that fit for one person, might be different for another, considered we don't all see as well. I am terrible with gray shades, for example :P Every game should allow for some adjustment of the light level, because of that. If they limit it, that's fine, but removing it althogether?
I guess my point was, if they are going to remove the gamma, they should make it so that day/night switches more often, because most people work during the day. If I could pick an Australian server, I would, lol.
Basically, if they remove the gamma, before fixing the day/night thing, I won't be able to play at all. I refuse to run around with a flash light at all times, and never get to see the actual graphics of the game. For now I've settled for playing it in black and white :P
