Often when running around places you can hear zombie noises but unable to see them.. The zombies are still able to hit you when they are invisible.. This has caused me to die numberous times.
If like to add this is not caused by hunger or thirst, as I've had to take my Tshirt off and rip into rags to bandage my wounds from the hit. {F28227} {F28228}

Yep, cut-off/split second zombie sounds but no attacks. Although this makes it much scarier runnin in the dark woods/fields :)
same here. i was looting a 2nd floor of a random building in cherno. friend of mine confirmed it (via private twitch.tv-stream) i started bleeding for no visible reason, but i heard a zombie sound.
Do the zombies have individual height mapping? seems to me they are underneath you but attack.
I have been in the middle of nowhere and attacked but i noticed the zombie was underneath me when its head popped up on a gradient.
Seems the New apartment blocks are notorius for this.
I could hear them but I will have to stop tonight and verify that they can hit you, I'm sure its a thing and would make sence with the zombies sounds now.
@Prospect that isn't a duplicate, because in this report it is possible that you can get attacked by invisible Zombies (happened to me too) and not just hearing zombies where none are.
Confirmed; I would not see zombies but they would attack me (my character kind of leaning, screen going brighter for a second, seeing blood from 3rd person view).
Yep not enought zombies on the map coz most of them are invisible, one tried to take my soul, rotten kiwi saved me...
I have heard "invisible zombies" but they turned out to be rabbits producing the zombie sound. Do not know if it is the same problem though because I have never been hit and started bleeding.
There was a visible zombie that chased me into a hospital, i ran up the stairs and lost sight of the zombie but he sounded close and was making full zombie sounds. I started hearing punching noises and started bleading even though I could not see the zombie. I ran up a second flight of stairs where I ended up dying. Freaky as hell!
This happened to me as well. I was able to punch him and I guess I hit his face because the invisible zombie stopped hitting me for 2-3 seconds. Maybe this a bug with server loading zombie skin? I put on a pair of pants once and I looked like Ray man with no legs for like 5 minutes. Then the pants finally loaded and I was fine
I also got hit by an invisible Zombie. I heard its sounds and my body shook due to the hits I took.
I heard Rocket mention that zombie noises are playing in the ambient sound que's. It actually levels up the creepy factor for me. I have yet to encounter an invisible zombie that hits.
Only experienced this when I had significant clientside lag (shared connection, no QoS options on router)
Was chased by an invisible zombie for over an hour, could hear his screams getting quieter as I ran and then he'd catch up to me when I started looting
I didn't get hit, but he was on my tail for an age
I believe this bug needs to be fixed before combat logging penalties can be implemented, else anyone lose a character to an invisible assailant
Confirmed. Heard zombie voices like they would stand near me and got hit twice. Ran away. Logged out and then in on another server and saw a zombie standing 10 meter away. So a zombie spawn was there.
I was just attacked and killed by what must have been more than one zombie in the new town just north of the coastal airfield. I could hear them, shoot them if I got lucky, and be hit by them.... but couldn't see them.
Can confirm this. I don't believe it was my machine, but I had logged into a hospital only to be attacked by an invisible zombie. I switched servers to get away. It's hard to run away when you can't see your attacker.
Confirmed. I've been attacked 4 times by invisible zombies. Loud noise out of nowhere and sudden punches in the face.
Can confirm this! Was in the military site north of Kamenka with 2 friends when we herad one zombie but couldn't see him after searching everything. We then stopped in the bottom of the hospital to drink/eat up and one of our friend got hit from something. We panicked, treid to bandage him, couldn't hear any gunshots or any sign of players - just the zombie. Then he moved out, and I started to get hit, so we just started running until we could hear the noises become quieter and finally stopped. We then gave our characters a break, only to hear the zombie come closer again. After that we just sprinted a few minutes until we were sure he lost our track only to move to the next empty town, which wasnt looted and strangely didnt have any viible zombies in it either. Suddenly, we heard several zombies aggroing on us, so we logged out because there was no point in us dying from ghosts ;)
This happened to me yesterday. I thought it was perhaps some script kid being loose on the server.
I fired my rifle in the direction I thought the threat was, but since I stayed and didn't attempt to flee, my player character was killed.
Also attacked and killed by invisible zombies, i swinged my axe in every direction and nothing... maybe they are underground?

confirmed, I was attacked by invisible zombies as well. not to be confused with the rabbit zombie noises. Actual invisible zombies hitting me.
i have the strong feeling, these 'invisible' zombies glitched into the ground and are attacking from there.
i also was attacked through the floor of an hospital (zombie in first level, me in second lvl)

Confirmed. Thought it was the "random zombie sound" issue at first, so I didnt pay much attention to it, until I got hit by "nothingness".
Some zombies however are visible. I dont know if its just some models or its a random issue.
Confirmed, hit by invisible zombie(s) in Svet, ran into a 2 story building, fire my gun on main floor after being hit a third time, then ran upstairs. Once upstairs I could still hear them as if they were at the bottom of the stairs.
Waited for 10 min at the top of the stairs and didn't get hit once, but could still hear them really close. Logged out there at the top of the stairs. Not sure but they couldn't follow me up the stairs
not invisible under the floor or in the walls, the zombies have not been taught how to act when they see stairs or ladders so they stay ground level until you come back down or they will just run around under you biting your ankles
Confirmed. I heard zombie sound effects that would not stop. Literally endless loop of different zombie noises. Nothing to be seen. When I stopped I began getting attacked, but taking no damage. After moving, the invisible zombie would have to catch up to me again to continue attacking. Still took zero damage, but vision became blurred. Finally I glitched through the floor of the supermarket, but unsure if that was in any way tied to the invisible zombie glitch.
Happened to me too. I mostly just hear the sounds, but have suffered the occasional thumping. Running away doesn't seem to work, nor does swinging wild with melee weapons. Maybe they glitch through the floor...?

Same here, I heard zombies without seeing them before but it was a sound problem not at all like this.
I just experienced being hit by invisible zombies in experimental 0.37 and got hit while i was checking my option menu.
It was my first time attacked by an invisible zombie. I was to the north of pusta in the firs (the road triangle) when it occurred to me. So confirmed on 0.37.115791
I confirm that I got hit by a zombie that I couldnt see north of Nizhnoye. My friend was chased by zombies that I couldn't see but still it attacked me
Confirmed. Happened to me couple of times as well. Also became the death of me 2 times. I've reported this. I wanted to add my report here but couldn't find mine.
Confirmed. Got 3-shotted while i was trying to run away from an invisible zombie. At this point i had healthy status.
Happened to me too. No sound, no visible zombie, nothing. Just got grey vision like hits over time, started bleeding, got fracture, than game fell and i have to start from beginning, cause i died...
