When you pick up an empty weapon, a magazine from your inventory is automatically loaded into it.
Feedback, NormalPublic

Description

This works with any kind of weapon, i.e. rifles, pistols and launchers.

If there is an empty weapon on the ground and you have a magazine for it in your inventory, picking up the weapon will cause that magazine to be loaded into it instantly. (No reloading animation.)

This also works if you drop the weapon and instantly pick it back up, which can be exploited to quickly re-load rocket launchers, for example.

2.08.149000 prof
magazine from ground still auto-reload

STEPS:

  1. drop mag from your rifle on ground
  2. drop rifle on the ground
  3. pick up rifle

result - magazine loaded in rifle

@TRAGER Could you test this on latest dev please? I cannot confirm on internal. If it works on dev then it didnt make it into 2.08

drop rifle on the ground
pick up rifle

Just now, I decided to check your reproduction.

  1. I put in editor Crewman NATO and run game
  2. Pulled out the magazine from the primary weapon
  3. I put my primary weapon on the ground
  4. Picked up the my weapon from the ground

As a result, the weapon does not reload again! I don't have a magazine

magazine from ground still auto-reload

( ⊙_⊙)I can repro it on all branches - UPD: and ground and veh cargo too
Mag from uniform/vest/backpack won't auto-load but from the ground or cargo inventory mags auto-loading
Steam verify files are ok
↓↓check video↓↓ "2.10" I mean 2.09

@TRAGER this is a different issue you are talking about, the fix stopped weapon from insta reloading from the inventory. Technically it is possible to extend it for the containers but this is quite a game changer and I need to consult on this, but my gut feeling tells me it is unlikely to happen

Mag from uniform/vest/backpack won't auto-load but from the ground or cargo inventory mags auto-loading

I remember the days when this was not in Arma3!
One of the updates added this arcade.
I agree with @TRAGER Please fix this, weapons can't self-load inside the crate - this is absurd.

I've seen people abuse this to skip reloading animations - drop weapon and mag on the ground and pick it back up, faster than reloading animation.

How bad, and what is the alternative? Mind you any radical change and we gonna have a lot of people complaining about that too

Looked more into it. It can save you a tiny bit of time, plus you can reload launcher like this while laying down. All in all, not a game breaker, probably better to leave it as is. Maybe have it as description.ext option so it can be customized.
