Roadway LOD planes are off
Reviewed, UrgentPublic

Description

I have just noticed that Roadways are off Ingame all the time - on everything.
This is a big issue, because it can cause items to fall through floors when being dropped.
I noticed this, because i got several reports from people that items fall through the floor when dropping.
I attached Screenshots from OB and Ingame as comparison from 3 different Items/Models which show Roadway LOD and ingame Roadway using Diag Menu:

  • Cabin
  • Carlift
  • Foundation

Tyson updated the task description. (Show Details)

would this be why spawning sometimes (if not all the time) spawns you floating in the air?

Hopefully this is picked up by BI, since it's kind of annoying, to explain to players on my server what the problem is all the time.

Hello everyone.
According to the devs:

There is a deliberate offset in the debug for the roadways. The Enfusion world - Show bodies shows the roadsways at their actual places.
In other words, it should not be an issue in the game, but rather just an issue/design of the debug view.

I have done further testing on this and even though the roadway LOD visualizer might have a visual offset for display purposes, it actually affects the physics right now as well. Both on diag and non diag build. So @Tyson this should actually be a bug that needs fixing. Good report. I just stumbled across the same issue on my mods ;)

Is this something that is being worked on? I know you guys have a list a mile long but it would be nice to know if there is a future fix in the works.
