Sorry, mods can probably close this report as I think it's a duplicate of this:
http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=2203
same thing happened to me from the catwalk of one of these buildings:
http://static.dayzdb.com/img/buildings/land_barn_metal.jpg
At the time I thought it might be desync or client-side prediction lagging/throwing me off the edge but it might be that part of the rail isn't solid?
Can confirm this also happened to my brother on second floor of a red building. (In Myshkino, next to the well).. Completely silent death, no warning simply "You are dead"
Confirmed: Ran all the way from Three Valleys, to Msta, to Staroye. Religiously checking every building on the way. I Found 1 zombie, a fire extinguisher, and 1 rotten banana (0%)... Needless to say I was starving when I arrived in Staroye.
Feedback: No-loot-respawn might not be a bug, but it makes for a sad session.
Maybe not +30% but I feel the vicinity range should match the "pick up item" message range. Often I will have that message on screen but push tab to decide where the item should should go in my inventory, only to find that it's too far away to appear in the vicinity.
I think if the night-time appearance had a bit of art direction (like this example http://i.imgur.com/mBziYT5h.jpg) then it would do two things:
1- playing at night wouldn't be impractical so people wouldn't resort to gamma changes.
2- If you did tweak your gamma it would look horrible.
Horizontal explanation
This video explains the "negative acceleration" on horizontal axis that people are experiencing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWjIiRaGIYo
From what I can gather this ^^ is a contributing factor to the acceleration complaints but not the only cause.
How to test acceleration
Help isolate the issue for the Devs by
- holding down 'alt' while moving your mouse (only turns head, not your feet). Does it improve?
- Also test with and without a gun (weapon dexterity). Does it improve?
I imagine that providing all of the following details will help too:
X-axis %, Y-axis %, Smoothing %, Deadzone %, Acceleration on/off.
Keep it classy guys.
