I have noticed this as well.
Same goes for Charcoal Tabs, in addition to the painkillers and other medication. Should be eaten instead of bandaged.
This was a minor issue earlier which has been resolved. If you search for "email" on the "View Issues" page you should see several reports about it.
Also keep in mind that at peak hours a server with 0 players on it could fill up in SECONDS. So if you're trying to join an empty server/newly started server, it could actually be full instantly.
But yes, at the moment Steam is having some issues.
It was a minor issue and has been resolved already according to a moderator.
Make sure you're on the right server version. Check which version of the client you're running and make sure the server is the same. You can find the client version on the main menu I believe, and filter for the last numbers in the server browser.

I also received 2 emails like this at 16:55 GMT +1.
I received emails about the same two accounts.

I crashed last night after hearing someone going on global VOIP, sounding like the person was lagging and the crash coming right after.
