I think 64 bit implementation would be great for this game considering how complex and vast this game is compared to others. Making a game this complex only to be limited by 32 bit code and 2048 memory limit just doesn't make since to me considering its a wave of the future kind of game in more than one way. I doubt anybody who is buying a next generation gaming machine is going to use a 32 bit operating system anymore. If BIS would convert Arma to 64 bit code this game would be a lot more enjoyable and would improve a lot of our performance issues. That's not to say Arma 3 isn't a spectacular game. I've been playing 8 hours a day like a full time job and having a blast. This game is easily a 9 out of 10 stars rating. Just needs multiplayer performance optimizations and I think a 64 bit arma 3 version should be a necessity anymore. This game could easily be game of the year. Just need to get over that performance hump then the modding community would skyrocket and more people would tell theirs friends to buy this game. Its just a shame to be limited on a game with such magnificent potential.
Arma 3 really brings me back to the days when Swat 3 was out and it was Game of the Year and you could infiltrate buildings with flashbangs and peak around corners. So, I'm loving this game BIS *thumbs up*! Just give us some performance cause I definitely want to see the full potential of this game unleashed considering the talented modders we have around the community. If it takes time which it will so be it. But a game this beautiful needs it!!

Swat 3 anyone! I loved that game and Arma reminds me of it in some ways. Would be badass to have a similar breaching system as that game had. Optics that go under doors, flashbangs, c4 charges, a wand to peek around corners, you name it! Of course performance would need to be ironed out before something like that should be implemented. But here's another idea. Add those engineer robots that look like small tanks with bomb disposal abilities. I think this game could use more close quarters battle aspect to it but maybe something to focus on more down the road once they improve game performance and iron the bugs, glitches etc. This game would be super badass then....

I'm having the same issue. Usually I can hear my graphics card fans spin up when I reach a certain gpu usage. But during an online multiplayer server my gpu usage never goes above say 30 or 50 percent. Then I hear my graphics fans not working as hard.
With msi afterburner installed and monitoring I've noticed that when my gpu usage goes up my fps tend to go up. If I play smaller servers with less people I tend to get a better performance as well. Earlier today I played an Altis wasteland server that had maybe 5 people in it and scarce vehicles and it ran immaculate. 50-60 fps/ good gpu usage. Then I go to a invade and annex server and things start gettin sluggish with all the a.i./ vehicles/ players. 15-30 fps with lower gpu usage. My cpu is always around 50% usage or so on a core 2 quad q9650 in general. So there is some kind of correlation between gpu usage and fps. Haven't noticed much change in gpu memory. Its always around 1200-1500 mb on a 2000mb 7870 card.
Specs:
Q9650 Core 2 Quad overclocked to 3.6
HD7870 Hawk 2GB card
8 GB ddr2 800mhz ram
10,000 rpm raptor
Asus P5Q Turbo motherboard
