If you press your aim button while you don't have a rifle / pistol in your hand, it will make you walk as if you are looking down iron sights even though they arn't there. Some thing in ArmA. Try right clicking, then double tapping shift, if it doesn't work, try in the other order.

I've seen the same thing, I don't think I've been on a single day light server, and the closes I got was dusk.

I've had this happen as well, but I've been on Teamspeak with other players who are in different areas of the map, and they hear the same thing I do. Same thing happens sometimes with cans of pop opening.
