You can randomly hear zombie sounds (often sounding cut off) everywhere on the whole map with absolutely no zombies around.
- Legacy ID
Happens all the time by itself every couple of minutes.
Well if you search you can actually find the new sounds for dayz in a youtube video. So it is probably low priority because they think it will be fixed next patch. if everything starts making zombie sounds then they will mark it high.
Just a NOTE on this I found in the forum:
Animals & Hunting
Target Delivery: Early 2014
The AI for animals is based on the new AI for zombies (some will notice the old local ambient animals making zombie noises and acting aggressively!). We have a cutdown version of this we will be using for hosting animals, including those from ArmA2 as well as new animals such as a deer.........
So I think no fix is coming yet, until this is implemented first.
I had this happen while playing last night it started north of NEAF when I went into a town despite being clear a random zombie came running from a building. After that it stopped for a while. I'm guessing it "de-glitched" when it went through a building?
there are also random (i call them) "gate-opening" sounds.
it doesnt do this sound when opening a real gate, but you can hear it randomly :D
(you will get scared so hard if looting Military bases :D)
This gives me an idea! Maybe there could be like guilt so that when someone kills another player they'll start suffering from random sounds that will make the player get nervous. Depending on how much murders you do, the worser the guilt gets, therefore more scary noises appears like a gun reloading or even gunshots nearby. Could make the game really interesting, increasing horror and giving reasons to stop killing on sight! I have a post suggesting this if you wanna check it:
I'm not trying to spam as I'm posting this on a related issue and I'm just hoping people that may think this a good idea will find it's way through this
Dear Devs, you can also use zombie sounds from other dayz mods what are currently played in the dayz commander. One mod with good zombie sounds would be dayz overwatch. copy them into the game and mix them with the old ones. Then we have a lot of zombie sounds and they sound more creepy and also better :D
I don't know about the Soda sound error, but for the zombie...
It may only be a zombie stuck inside an area that player cannot reach/see.
- Room in house that we cannot open door.
- Zombie spawned underground/under floor.
Just an idea
Today was hearing zombie sounds every 20-30 seconds and clearly were no zombies around. Also random drinking and eating. Seems like the sounds are happening a lot more often then before...probably with the latest patch.
I experienced this last night. I wasn't just hearing zombie sounds either. I could hear sounds of chewing, gulping, opening of soda, gun shots, grunting, and moaning.
The server was empty with exception to myself and a friend but we both definitely heard gun shots at the same time while being very far apart. The noises seemed to be synchronized across the clients in the server.
heard this yesturday there was 4 of us in bolota one by the barracks one in the hangers, one by the north prison, and one at building one. eveyone heard the noiss at the same time. we where on teamspeak. so confirmend.
A fun thing about this is, that when friends of mine are fighting some Zs and they are on the other side of the map, i can hear it.
Freaks them out every time i ask them "you fighting a Z right now?" and in most cases they are (about 90% i am right, the other 10% are based upon my paranoia i guess^^)
So, could it be the sounds aren´t random at all but have an origin from some player on the map that is fighting a Z?
strange i dont hear something of this, really rare some sort of reload or shoot or zombie roars, but this was always so in standalone, and i dont know if really someone theres (in neighbour building or so..)
I am still having this problem even in 0.44. Very displeased as it makes it hard to identify other players actions. I randomly hear soda cans being opened and bullets being combined into one pile as well as zombie noises when there is clearly no one in the area
